I have followed David Berkeley for a long time. I first saw him on Mountain Stage in Charleston, WV. "After the wrecking ships" was in my CD player for years. I just didnt think it got any better than that. Well it has. "Strange Light" is an amazing CD. I just saw David about a week ago in Buckhannon, WV and it was there that I purchased this CD. I havent listened to anything else since I got this CD. It is just one of those albums you can put in and listen to over and over. You have to buy this CD!!!!

Though similar in style to countless acoustic singer-songwriters, such as the ones mentioned above, David Berkeley has a voice all his own and Strange Light is proof of that.

I love David Berkeley, he is one of the best singers/musicians I have come across in a really long time. I first heard, "Fire Sign" on an episode of Cold Case and fell in love with it. It led me to buying this album, which I adore. His voice has a timbre similar to Tracy Chapman's, and his music is really heartfelt.

I even drove 4 hours to see him in concert and he actually asked me if I had any special requests for songs as I had driven so far. He then dedicated the song to me, and let's say he can really sing in person as well. My fav songs on this CD are Hurricane, Willis Avenue and Angelina.

Buy this CD!! You will not be disappointed.

I had already heard many of the songs live when I bought the cd. I am so glad that I did. While the experience of listening to the cd is completely different than seeing David live, it is not to be missed. From the "Hurricane" to "Angelina" each song is a self contained glimps into a world of romance, free thought and hope.
