TSOL Strangelove,

Great album! This record rocks with a lot of catchy hooks, good lyrics. Not for the die hard TSOL fan

The reason so many people hate this disc is because they're punk rock fans of the stuff TSOL did before Joe Wood took over. This is straightforward hard rock and blues metal, with nothing whatsoever to do with punk. If you like great hard rock, then by all means get "Strange Love" as it is absolutely a great set. If you like punk, stay away.

If your looking for a good album and I mean whole album try this!,

Yes T.S.O.L. is a punk band but with this release its more towards 80's rock not punk! I like every song and enjoy just putting this disc on and listening while working out (it keeps you going!). Hit and Run and this one go together if you like that one you'll definitely like this one!

i heard this record was bad but i needed it to complete my tsol collection and went ahead and bought it. It came out in early 1990 and the only original member present is bassist Mike Roche(who subsequently quit tsol on the eve of "Strange Love's" release and the band got a replacement and toured for the album with no original members). There is only a trace of the band's punk past on this record and it is mostly 80s metal type stuff with guitar solos and whatnot. However for what it is, its not all that bad(the cover art alone is great), but dont buy this cd before hearing the 12", "dance with me," and "change today." For diehard tsol fans go ahead and get it and you might like some of it.

The cover sez it all...,

What was left of TSOL had pretty much devolved into paint-by-the-numbers metal at this point. A couple of decent tracks in 'In the Wind' and 'Angel'. Bargin bin only for bizarro completists.

Horrible beyond belief, and it's NOT really TSOL anyway.,

If only the name "TSOL" could be taken off of this atrocity. Only the original bass-player appears on this CD, which sounds like a cross between WHITESNAKE and WINGER. Debased '80s moster-ballads rock. A horrible horrible record which tainted the name of the original TSOL, who had nothing to do with this! Someone should've filed a lawsuit somewhere down the line. Listen to a few seconds of one of the sound clips, and then listen to one of the clips from "Weathered Statues" and you'll see it's as different as night and day. YUCK.
