5.0 out of 5 stars Best Nancy Drew Book!
I absolutely loved this book! It has to be my favorite book in the series! I couln't put it down! There was a shepherd the quoted Scripture, and it was really fun trying to decipher the secret of the parchment with Nancy. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves the Nancy Drew books. There was a lot of mystery and adventure... I love Nancy Drew and I don't...

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst in the set
Without a doubt this was THE worst book in the series. Downright boring. No mystery, no action, no nothing. This book does not even deserve a point 1 rating let alone a 1.

This is a thrilling Nancy Drew book. That keeps readers in suspense from the begining to the end. This is a classic Nancy Drew tale that brings in all of her fantasic friends. As always the mysteries that Nancy gets involed in a challenging and trick. This is another great one to read.

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST BOOK EVER!!!!!, July 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Strange Message in the Parchment (Nancy Drew Mystery Stories, No 54) (Hardcover)
A sheep farmer seeks Nancy's help in deciphering some pictures painted on a parchment after receiving an anonymous phone call that it would right a great wrong. This is without a doubt the worst book that I have ever read. No mystery, no action, no suspence. The phone book is classic literature compared to this book. The book is just boring, boring, boring. For God sake, the bad guy is arrested while sitting on his living room couch and he never actually does anything to hinder Nancy's investigation other than be unpleasant to her. I bet that ending must have taken days of thought and careful planning to achieve. The only person I'd recommend this book to is a child that is constantly complaining that she/he is bored. After reading this book, she/he would know what true boredom really is.
