I found this book for the first time when I was 8 years old. My family had moved into the house of my father's godmother. I was an avid reader, and searching through her masses of books I found Strange Stories, Amazing Facts, with it's red cover and pages full of surprise and adventure. From trying to decipher the mysteries of the most haunted house in the world to traveling through the jungles to discover Angkor Watt, this book to me on a journey of imagination. I loaned the book several years ago to a young friend whom I thought could use the adventure. I'm glad to be able to buy it for myself again.

Every person who likes to read will enjoy this book. In the section about animals, there is an article about how extinct species can be brought back. They brought the Tarpan horse back by cross-breeding certain types of horses from all over the world. There's a story about freezing humans with diseases to bring them back to life in the future when a cure is found. This was written almost 30 years ago, and this still has not been mastered in our time. There's stories of hauntings, and unexplained events. It's a book with a bunch of short stories grouped in sections. Excellent reading.

We love this book. My husband has owned a copy for over 20 years and he would lend it out. After awhile it did not get returned. I was so excited to find copies on Amazon. Everyone we have given this book to has loved it.

These are short stories on a variety of topics (all true). My favorite is about the Shackelton expedition. I have not read every story, but have found this a great book to pick up when you don't have a lot of time. My husband likes the one about Meteors.

This would be a good book to have kids read to learn new things on science, or history. The stories are well written and engaging as well as accurate.

I bought a used copy of this book many years ago. It has a special place on my coffee table so that I can pick it up for research. I write children's stories and find it very informative... full of great tidbits! There is something of interest for everyone in this book.

Growing up, my brother and I would fight over reading this book. So many little stories in easily digestible bites. This is a great book to pick up when you have a spare minute or two, or when you just want to spend some time with some unusual stories. I just picked up another copy for my brother since I laid claim to the copy our parents had. He saw it on my bookshelf and attempted a book theft. Now, we will both be happy.

My first encounter with this book was 34 years ago
when my Father brought a copy of Amazing Stories.
It has remain my favorite and elated in a special
place in our bookshelves.

The stories are intriguing and easy to read. I still
read this book from time to time.

I remember getting this book when I was in elementary school and I read it from cover to cover hundreds of times. The stories definitely got me interested in the world of the unexplained and fueled a passion for reading along the way. If you can get your hands on this book, even though it is dated information it is still really cool.

This is a very good book to pick up every once in a while to learn about some of the oddest facts about our known (and unknown) universe. This book seems to have it all. I would highly recommend this to someone who is into strange and random facts. A book like this will definitely broaden your horizons and give you an entirely different perspective on life. It is hard to review a book that is filled to the brim with a myriad of strange tales, but I will say the majority of these stories are just pure fascinating. You will definitely have a difficult time putting this one down.

i bought this used for $0.01 and it is perfect it was for my sister who is 9... She loves this type of thing it seems like an ok book but if i were u i would buy it
