short on substance,
This review is from: Strange Stories of Life (Hardcover)
i am not sure what to make of this book. is it for kids? or adults? or both?
it has four "chapters". chapter one is about "some amazing animals" like: bobbie, a dog who was separated from his owners and found his way back(over 3,000- miles),a baboon who worked for a railroad in the 19th cent.,dolphins and their' ability to talk, the coelacanth fish,a huge spider...chapter two is,"astounding plants"(bristlecone pines, planta del mudo, and sequoia trees)...chapter three,"watch out for nature's tricks"...and chapter four,"puzzling people". each "story" is a couple paragraphs. i found it boring like, reading a newspaper blurb. there are some illustrations, but not very interesting. it could be this was written for kids that is why there is not much to it? i have seen other books on "strange phenomena" which are alot better. there is not much to this book. if i could chose a word to sum up this book,it would be -sparse.
