Book Description

Outfit
A little girl's disappeared from right outside the school. Everyone's blaming Ragger Bill, the ragged man who lives in the school boiler room. But The Outfit are sure Ragger Bill's innocent and if the only way to prove it is to find the missing girl, then that's what they'll have to do.

Editorial Reviews

From AudioFile

Homeless old Bill lives in a boiler and speaks with a funny lisp, so naturally he's the object of much sport in the town of Lenton. But the sport turns to rage when a little girl goes missing, and it takes the open-minded kids (two boys, two girls) of "The Outfit" to prove Bill innocent and find the kidnapped child. Narrator Crane masters all the voices, throwing in a mild speech impediment for Bill and keeping it believable. Short, sweet, and easy to listen to.
