5.0 out of 5 stars Isn't this every woman's secret fantasy??
Wow! This book was really hot! All I can say is, I would LOVE to find a guy like that wandering around the grounds of my estate. Their early encounters are perfect -- taut with the uncertainty of the unknown, the forbidden, but still with a strong erotic charge. And things only get better as each explores previously-hidden, or forgotten, passions.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was expecting
Since I own the audiobook of Entertaining Mr Stone and find it absolutely delightful, I was hoping it was indicative of Ms De Costa's overall style. This book is ok; well written, grammar and syntax mostly good, dialogue acceptable, but I found it just... ok; certainly not particularly, uh, stimulating. YMMV, but I would have been happy to remain a stranger to The...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great enjoyment every time!, July 3, 1998

I found this book to be very refreshing in the fact that its central character is a 40 something widow, and not some bimbo that no one can relate to. I absolutly could not put this one down the first time I read it, and I still get enjoyment out of it many times after that first read. I think the Black Lace Series is truly a step ahead of the competition when it comes to writing women's erotica. Ever time I can, I try to expand my collection, and you should do the same. And then, introduce your friends. Their sure to love it as well!

Where in the world were women like Claudia a few years back when I was young?

Portia da Costa has done it again with an erotic account that veritably sizzles as the pages are turned. Claudia, recently widowed, comes upon a young man skinny dipping in the creek of her English countryside estate. Rather than throw him off her property she finds it much more exciting just enjoying the view as he enjoys the solidtude and flexes his muscle.... LOL

Of course a late night thunderstorm finds the stranger on Claudia's doorstep where he passes out from fear, confusion, and of course we later find, amnesia. Yummie or what .... 'Come in said the spider to the fly' comes to mind as Caudia takes him in and lets the poor boy rest to recover his energy. Needless to say Claudia has a very very strange bedside manner if she wanted him to recover ... if you know what I mean ..

The author spins a tale that keeps our interest as the Claudia awakens to a new and hidden part of her sexual awareness that was very much so surpressed during her blissfull married life. The greatest thing is that this is now one of the few English erotica books that the characters are able to taste the fruits of the flesh without having to beat the living daylights out of each other first or even use kitchen utensils to get it on .....

So it's also hardly a surprise that this 1997 Black Lace printing is 'sold out' and you can bet Im not selling my copy either ......

As a fan of the Black Lace series, this one is up to the standards I expect from a woman writer. It was well written, and a page turner that I finished in one day, with no complaints from my partner about my mood later. I would recommend any further books by Portia Da Costa for any discerning reader who likes erotic fiction, as hers never disappoint.
