I had read the book many times and a friend loaned me the DVD to show to my 3rd grade class. The kids LOVED it. The narration is SO funny, we were all in stitches. It's only 40 minutes and that includes about a 10 minute blurb on the authors and the making of the movie. So the price seems a little high, but I'm still going to buy it. It's that good. I highly recommend this movie (AND the book).

My daughter got this DVD on her 1st birthday and absolutely LOVES it! She is fascinated with the animals. A wonderful way to teach your children about nature.

Our old DVD was scratched; so I'm buying another because I want my children to have it. This DVD is hilarious, beautiful, and teaches sensitivity to nature. Recommend it for adults, too!

The video isn't much like the book at all until the end. It's more entertaining than educational due to the dialogues and singing. Mostly, it's jam-packed with singing and great video clips/photos of animals in their winter habitats. Pay attention parents, and you'll be able to pick up on some dry (but not crude) humor which maks this video more bearable than other juvenile counterparts. It's a little long for some audiences; a preview will give you an idea on how the video can be chopped up into smaller sections. The voices of some animals are childlike, and at times a bit pitchy to comprehend, but in the songs it doesn't really matter much as long as everyone enjoys the music. Did I mention the music? Bonus features include a memory recall game.

My preschool-aged son received the book "Stranger in the Woods" as a birthday gift last year and we really enjoyed it. On the front cover, I saw that there was a movie so I came to amazon looking for it. We love the book and the movie! It is a clever little story and the images are gorgeous. It makes this beach lover long for winter-time again!

Of course my preschooler loves this whimsical and unusual children's movie, but, I was surprised when my teenage nieces asked for it, too. The characters, voices, music and photos are superb. It's fun and funny and I highly recommend it. The book is excellent, too.

The book is awesome and the movie is the best children's movie I have ever seen. I use it every winter with my students. We laugh and pick our favorite songs. The animal scenes and humor make everyone laugh and giggle with joy. I have borrowed a copy for three years but decided I needed my own. It will get passed on to my grandchildren when I a retire from teaching.

I highly recommend all sisbro movies (I have them all). per minute, they are expensive but they are fun to watch over and over again. we had many loughs and love the songs, the talking animals, the funny voices. A film with soul. not a disney type.

My daughter's preschool class loved this video. They also had the soundtrack and listened to it daily for four months. This is an adorable video, especially if you loved the book. I enjoy watching it with my little one.
