This book was a multiple stop shop, with its twists and turns. I love how the author manages to paint two female characters who are more stubbornly independent about living their own lives and doing their jobs by day and that everything would be normal at night. Attack upon spiteful attack in the latter, and the false pursuits in the former, bring these to astonishing climaxes. The lovemaking scenes were intense and the endings always twisted around to love. Very captivating reads!

Sincerely,

Cody Weinmann,
Author of America vs. America

I love Lisa Jackson and have not read a book I did not like. There are two stories in the book. The first one the Mystery Man was excellent. I'm so glad that Chelsea did not give on finding Devlin. I did feel bad about what happened to John the man she was going to married. She fell for the bad boy. If I could picture Devlin he would be cross between Shane West and Gerald Butler. Once Chelsea went on the hunt for Devlin it got really exicting. At first I was not too happy about Devlin testing her about how much she really loved John who she finally decided to marry, but things did not work out so good. I thought a along that Devlin was the guy for Chelsea from the moment they met. It was just something about him I feel in love with. I think all of us wants someone that makes are heart flutter and set's us on fire that makes us feel special. Lisa Jackson captured that between these characters. It was very dangerous when Chelsea could not stop her search for Devlin McVey. You will love the store between John and Chelsea and Chelsea and Devlin. Now Obsession the second story with in this book...page turner just wonderfully written, romance that you hope would return between Zane and Kaylie. Kept me guessing who was terrifying Kaylie...thank god Zane never gave up on her. I agree with the review about two women independent that go after what they want...both women have proven themselves in being strong. I loved both books....Both books were suspenseful and both happy endings. It's nice to have someone care so much they would go to any lengths to protect the women they love.

I was aware this was a reissue of Mystery Man and Obsession(1991).
Surprisingly, I found this in a Half Price Books store and began to read each story to make sure I wouldn't be disappointed. I was not. I ended up buying the book and loved both stories. Both leave you sizzling, and wanting to read them again.

Having read many Lisa Jackson novels, I expected this (back cover) "harrowing tales" of love to have some action, plot, suspense,or something besides the never ending nauseating angst of two insipid females.

What little action these stories contain only comes at the very end of the story. It's too little too late. The only reason I finished this book, it was a struggle, was to be able to write this review and save someone else their money. I'm throwing my copy in the trash.
