5.0 out of 5 stars stands alone as an intriguing Jack the Ripper tale, May 22, 2011

This takes place in the SiP universe(s), but it's mostly a woman writing a story about two lovers in the late 19th century in Whitechapel. The writer is arrested for butchering her husband, as is one of the lovers. The stories are told side-by-side, although "reality" is nothing like in chronological order. The mystery of both stories (did she really kill him?) are intriguing but the looks into the minds of "murderers" are really what the book is about. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Victorian Horror for the New Ages..., January 25, 2006

This review is from: Strangers In Paradise Book 16: Molly And Poo (Paperback)
This story was included in Pocket Book 5 of Strangers in Paradise and - except for a few cameo appearences- has little to do with any of the main characters in the book. It concerns a young woman named Molly Fleming, a struggling writer who one day snaps and murders her husband, Michael, in his sleep. Diving into her psyche through a series of letters with an unknown man named Poo, we are able witness the same events taking place in early 19th century London, but with Molly as the hero of her own sick fantasy.

I have to compliment Mr. Moore for his diversity and creating a piece of work that allows us to get into the mind of the killer. It's certainly what I consider to be a breath of fresh air in comics today. The reason I dock this book a star is because of the price. If you are primarily an SiP fan, I recommend spending a little bit more for the Pocket Book which includes this story as a bonus. Otherwise you'll be spending a bit more for this stand alone issue.
