Thrilling!,

This review is from: Strangers on a Train (Paperback)
Patricia Highsmith's debut novel is truly exceptional. The book is a thrilling and fast read, and provides a sometimes uncomfortable picture of the inside of a murderer's mind. Very reminiscent of Crime and Punishment, yet still new and somehow modern-feeling, Strangers on a Train does a great job of building suspense and pulling the reader in. My only complaint is that the female characters are so flat - expected from a male author maybe, but from a Barnard alumna!? But really, this book was great, and I highly recommend it.
