5.0 out of 5 stars Another awesome one from Jonah 33
When I first heard "Faith Like That," the title cut from their debut CD, I knew I had to get the CD and hear the rest. I was not disappointed, so much so that I would be hard-pressed to pick a fav from the debut CD. "Faith" is awesome; "Watching You Die," with its gritty edge, sticks in my head; "All For You" - another killer; and then there's Working Man's Hands, nearly...

3.0 out of 5 stars Wonder What Happened Here
I got this cd in the mail today and I've gotta say..it's a bit of a dissapointment compared to their self-titled debut. Gone is the grunge-inspired rock anthems and melodic soft rock gyms in place of mediocre rock songs..most of which are soft and nowhere near as catchy as anything off the self-titled. The Best songs are actually the only two heavy ones "Tell Me" and...

When I first heard "Faith Like That," the title cut from their debut CD, I knew I had to get the CD and hear the rest. I was not disappointed, so much so that I would be hard-pressed to pick a fav from the debut CD. "Faith" is awesome; "Watching You Die," with its gritty edge, sticks in my head; "All For You" - another killer; and then there's Working Man's Hands, nearly brings me tears. So when the second CD was released, I didn't even hesitate to grab it. Even better than I could have hoped! Every single song is awesome! I love how they have a slight edge, but still seem to show a "mellow-ness" as well. I love every track on this CD! The new Kutless and this latest Jonah are just about all I listen to since I picked them up; I like them both that much. If you liked the first CD, don't hesitate to get this one as well. You won't regret it. Also, check out the latest Kutless - Hearts of the Innocent. Awesome christian rock!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Group that has earned a listen., March 9, 2006
This review is from: The Strangest Day (Audio CD)
I first heard the song "This is it (You instead of me)" on CMradio.net's modern rock station. I loved it and bought "The Strangest Day" with high expectations. I wasn't dissapointed. Jonah33 has a great sound on the CD and the lyrics great too. Each song is unique. I am impressed with Jonah33 and if you like christian rock or alternative you should listen to this CD. It is worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars the NEW Jonah33, February 7, 2006

This review is from: The Strangest Day (Audio CD)
Most people say that "The Strangest Day" is Jonah33's Sophomore release, yet the way I see it this album is Jonah33's debut.
Respectively Jonah33's self-titled debut (released in 2003) was more of a Vince Lichlyter solo album. Jonah33 consisted of Vince, Joshua Dougan on drums and Pete Eekhoff on bass but if you read the liner notes you will see that Joshua Dougan only performed on two of the albums songs and Pete Eekhoff didn't provide a single note. A total of seven studio musicians provided the music for Jonah33's self-titled album, including producer Skidd Mills and Skillet's John Cooper. But in all honestly I am not complaining, Jonah33's first album is a smashing success it's just that this is not the Jonah33 of today.
The Strangest Day *IS* Jonah33, the sound is completely different from the self-titled album but that's because the band is different. Vince Lichlyter provides the vocals and rhythm guitar, Joshua Dougan provides every beat, and new member Jason Rooney provides the lead guitar work. Jonah33 also has a new bass player, Mr. Cory Riley, and he provides the bass tracks for "search me, know me." Another plus is that the band performs all the background vocals, giving the album a true Jonah33 sound. And I must say that Vince Lichlyter wrote five of the ten songs himself and co-wrote another four songs for this album, drummer Joshua Dougan also co-wrote two of the songs.
The sound of The Strangest Day is Jonah33, and more then likely this is what we can expect on their third album. As for me i'm looking forward to it!

This album introduced me to Jonah 33 and I can only say WOW. The lryics are awesome and the lead singers voice is amazing. It has a clean fresh sound that lifts your spirits. I have since bought a couple other CDs from the band and I have not been disappointed. I can honestly say I loved every track on the album .

This is what I would call a complete CD,the songs are all unique and the singer is above average.(strong voice with range)
The songs on here range from Hard rock to softer ballards.(what more could you ask for?)
A clean sound, clear vocals, deep lyrics, great production, buy this CD and recommended it to everyone.
Suppport these guys because positive music which sounds as good as this is hard to find.

This was the first time I had purchased anything to do with Jonah 33 and I absolutely recommend it .My 18 year old son loves it because they play music the way he likes it and they're standing for God.What a great alternative to hard rock by bands that don't stand for Christ!

5.0 out of 5 stars awsome music, February 3, 2006

Vince is such an awsome person, and his music reaches out to the hurting and the dieing. Did you know that he also was a youth pastor back in waldron arkansas? He rocked at that also.

The Best songs are actually the only two heavy ones "Tell Me" and "Desensitized." I'm not saying I don't like the cd, just saying they got a taste of the sophomore slumps cause this could have been way better, especially since Epic records picked them up after their self-titled effort became something of an underground hit. If you like this cd but have not yet heard their first, I highly recommend doing so for songs like "Watching You Die", "Too Much Of Me", "Death And The Life", and "All That Matters."
