Product Description

Platform: Xbox 360 | Edition: Collector's

Experience the excitement of the true next-gen action while continuing the story of John Woo's influential action film, "Hard Boiled" starring Chow Yun-Fat. Ensnared by a crime boss with a gripping secret, Inspector Tequila is forced to cross the line from sworn duty to bloody revenge. Engage your enemies with intense cinematic gun battles in Tequila Time by targeting and firing in real-time while the world dramatically slows and enjoy the exhilaration of running up railings, swinging from chandeliers, and leaping onto moving objects - all without complex controls. Using the Massive D physics engine, bring the world down on your enemies, carve your own realistic path of destruction through environments and maneuver through unique piles of debris which persist in the environment. In the only video game to offer the authentic Woo experience, John Woo partners with Midway to create the ultimate action video game with all of the director's signature cinematic action, character focused storytelling, and revolutionary directing style. Prove you are the ultimate renegade cop as players from around the world show off their gunplay skill and compete online in the most realistic next-gen environments.

3.0 out of 5 stars It gets old fast, November 27, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Stranglehold Collector's Edition (Video Game)
The demo on Xbox Live was awesome, the demo included the entire first level, and was very fun.

The actual game really held to the demo in quality for the first couple levels, but slowly petered out. They stopped adding convenient lethal environmental factors that you could destroy.

Basically if you loved the demo, you will enjoy the game, if you just though the demo was fun but not spectacular don't bother.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bronze Medal, Good "Filling" Game, September 19, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Stranglehold Collector's Edition (Video Game)
Stranglehold is fun, yet flawed. It's a flashy action game in which you leap through the air, guns akimbo and blazing, killing 5 enemies with a well-placed bullet in a propane tank.

The slow-motion shooting is great fun, but the little gimmicks: running on railings, swinging from chandeliers, rolling on trolleys, diving through windows, get old after repetition; never un-fun, mind you, just old. The first few levels are truly magnificent, but it seems to run out of ideas in the second half, mainly focusing on the gun play rather than the environmental kill factors, and the last level in particular is a test of everyone's patience. Throw nigh-invincible bosses into the mix, a rail shooter segment, and the aforementioned running out of steam in the second half into the mix... Well, It's no Mona Lisa.

I can't really think of worse things to say about it than "It gets a bit old" and "The second half kinda sucks". Overall, it's a solid game, like a dependable Labrador retriever, or macaroni and cheese. Don't expect much meat, but if you're looking for a good starchy game, you can't go wrong.
