A must for creative and collaborative minds,

This CD reveals a glimpse of the truth about what an open-minded creative process can achieve. The music is raw and truly one of a kind showing off not only the spontaneous and adventurous spirit of all involved, but also the multiculturalism that is our world today. This album is a must for artists trying to tap into a part of themselves that they didn't know was there.

I participated in this album, and it is something I'm very proud of. Improvisation is hard to capture in a studio, but I think this gets pretty close to capturing some of the best things about totally spontaneous playing. Not all the music was purely improvisational. Some of it was played from jazz lead sheets, some pieces were basically road mapped beforehand and then improvised over that road map. Some of it is pure spontaneous, free improv. And some of it is really inspired.I've since recorded with the New York Philharmonic, Trey Anastasio, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, but I think I'm proudest of this. |
