better than titleist,

This review is from: Strata Tour Ultimate Golf Balls (12-pk.) (Misc.)
I've been using Titleist golf balls for over 15 years but when they decided to discontinue their Professional and HP Tour product lines I was in golf ball hell. I thought the world would stop spinning. The Pro V1 gave me too much lateral spin particularly off the tee. I evaluated the Nike Tour Accuracy and the Strata Tour Ultimate - no contest as the Strata was the closet golf ball to the Titleist Pro and HP Tour that I have found. A great product!!!!

Tour Ultimate...Not Quite The Ultimate,

I am a 16 handicap, and have played every type of golf ball on the planet. The Tour Ultimate is good, but if you have any slice or hook with your drive, this accentuates it. It is a good ball for controlling around the greens, and puts very true. For a Strata I like this ball a lot, but I couldn't play it all day every day.

I have played this ball for three years now. This particular ball drives well, putts true (when spin balanced), and has a nice feel on those delicate chips around the greens. I am a 12 handicap (and improving) with a high clubhead speed using x-stiff steel shafts. I haven't paid over $20 a dozen for this ball, catching sales and closeouts as well as logo overruns. Bear in mind that here you are paying a premium price for a premium ball you will not be able to continue playing because it's not being made any more.
