A must for Human Resources professionals,

This review is from: Strategic Business Partner: Aligning People Strategies with Business Goals (Hardcover)
This is the best definition of the HRD role I have ever read. I have been practicing these techniques in my own role as an external consultant, they have helped me a lot. I always suggest my clients to read it, specially to those involved in the HRD departments. This a very practical way of being more strategic and have a real impact on the company you are working on. Also this new perspective, full of examples and "how to" guides, will give HR people real influence on businees issues. I strongly recommend this book.

Well written coaching guide for HR folks wanting to be more strategic in their work w/ organizations. Good working examples throughout to get you thinking of where you can add value as well as items to work on for your specific situation.
I happened to meet Dana & Jim Robinson since they live in my neck of the woods. Extremely nice people & well versed in the strategy modes.

Dana Gaines and James C. Robinson's STRATEGIC BUSINESS PARTNER: ALIGNING PEOPLE STRATEGIES WITH BUSINESS GOALS is the first book to consider the human resource professional's importance in the business partner role. Major SBP responsibilities elevate the HR person to that of strategic partner, re-defining the role and adding an extra dimension of accountability into the mix. Chapters explore and explain the partnership concept, its role and applicability in the workplace, and how the HR position can become strategic.
