5.0 out of 5 stars The Strategic Electronic Day Trader
At last a book that addresses the truth about electronic trading. This book is very unique and is obviously written by a trader with years of experience. I found I could not put it down. I can assure you that just is not the case with other books I have read on the subject. In this book you will find information that you just don't get anywhere else. The chapter on...

3.0 out of 5 stars barely readable
This author does not know how to write, explain or put his thoughts on paper. He rambles, says the same thing many times, and he does not explain the most basic of thoughts. Its basically a book about how day trading/scalping is (are) bad, but his methods are good. He must say that same thing 25 times throughout the book. Enough already. Not for the beginner. He...

I can assure you that just is not the case with other books I have read on the subject. In this book you will find information that you just don't get anywhere else. The chapter on shorting intraday is just one example. If you are serious about learning to trade this is the only book I have read that tells it like it is and gives you the information you need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book On Trading, July 15, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Strategic Electronic Day Trader (Hardcover)
The book is one of the most unique and comprehensive books on trading I have ever read. In my 12+ years of experience I can say it opened my eyes to information and mistakes which have cost me thousands of dollars. This old dog has learned some new tricks and I can't thank the author enough.

The Strategic Electronic Day Trader covers new ground. The professional review at the beginning will give you an excellent overview of the subjects covered in this book. It is well written and once you start you won't be able to put it down.

4.0 out of 5 stars this shouldn't be your only book on trading, November 30, 2001

This review is from: The Strategic Electronic Day Trader (Hardcover)
Many topics in this book weren't new to me.
Though for a beginner it might be interesting as it gives an impression of what trading is all about and what kind of trader you want to be.
Deel covers trade management and trading strategies, account and money management, technical charting, order entry and Level 2, ECNs and MMs. A little bit of everything.

However what was new to me and made me stunned were last the 2 chapters "the biomechanical trader" and "seize the day".
Very very interesting indeed! It's like those adds I've read before: "People are using only 10% of their brains...." (well??)

For your trading education you should read more than just one book. This might be one in your collection to give you yet another point of view on trading (that's what it was for me). Still I give this book 4 stars because I liked the chapter on trading strategies so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Wish I Had Read This Book First, May 4, 2000

After reading this book I now know why I lost so much money day trading. This book opened my eyes to analysis that a level II screen would never reveal. I lost thousands of dollars trying to trade like a market maker (scapling). Because of this book that will never happen to me again. Armed with the information I gained from reading this book I am ready to trade from a high probability prospective. I recommend this book to anyone like me who lost money trying to trade off of lever II scalping. Never again!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the better books on strategies., February 25, 2001

I found this to be one of the better books on trading. It's a small book but it covers a lot. The author, like me, is not a strong believer in charts. It's not really a how to if you don't already know how to trade the basics. My first book review of "After Hours Trading Made Easy" was that it was terrible, just the opposite here. Read the book, and then read it again. There is much to gain. Above all, be patient, use what you gain from books to develop a trading technique of your own. Every day is not a good trading day, but Deel does a good job of explaining both trading long and short. I highly recommend this book. I have been trading for a few years, and found this book to be one of the better ones.

2.0 out of 5 stars A customer From USA was right., May 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Strategic Electronic Day Trader (Hardcover)
This book is not for beginners. The author uses terminology without first defining it. The entire first half of the book was extremely confusing. For instance, he author attempts to explain a "market trend quantifier" by assigning values to trendlines, exponential moving averages, rsi trix support and resistance areas, and interest rates. He forgot, however, to explain how or who assigns those values to come up with the desired result. Maybe he knows what he is talking about, but he is not a very good teacher or writer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Approach, but not the only way to trade, April 20, 2000
By A Customer
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Strategic Electronic Day Trader (Hardcover)
The approach put forward in this book is very technical and based on chart reading. Although this is an important aspect of daytrading, this approach will not work in every market. The Market Maker activity, which is crucial for daytrading is not even discussed. Deel however has a solid technique for intraday trend trading and an emphasis on not overtrading which is lethal to new traders and does nothing but put money in the hands of brokerages. Some of the biomechanical info in the book borders on new age mysticism but this book is worth a close look (along with every other book you can get your hands on).

1.0 out of 5 stars Sales pitch, November 12, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Strategic Electronic Day Trader (Hardcover)
This book is nothing more than a sales pitch for the author's trading school. From page 62, "All screens, strategies, and formulas are given to students of <authors school>." Really? I thought I bought this book to learn the author's screens, strategies and formulas. Further, chapter seven is dedicated to convincing the reader of the value of the authors "biomechanical trader" methodology. I completed the book wondering what my payment should be for enduring this pitch.
