Outstanding Reading for Military Spouses,
By The Career Coach (military@ct1.nai.net) (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Strategic Job Jumping: 50 Very Smart Tactics for Building Your Career (Paperback)
As Career Coach for military spouses, I've added this book to my top ten list. Ms. Hartman shatters the myth that stability is necessary, or even desirable, for career development. In fact, it may be impossible in today's job market, where the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the average tenure of employees in most fields has been declining continuously over the last decade. Those who've read "Strategic Job Jumping" and put Ms. Hartman's ideas to practice will find increased satisfaction and improved opportunities for advancement in today's increasingly competitive market of "flattened" organizations. As a seasoned job jumper myself, I can vouch for the effectiveness of the tactics and strategies recommended. The book is very readable, and useful whether you're looking to advance within your field, move amongst fields, or ensure your continued career development as a trailing spouse.

Good but not complete,

It was a book with good information but I want to stress one thing. I am not a MBA from Columbia or some other Ivy League school. I think the book should focus more on "regular" people with bachelor degrees from good/decent not Ivy League schools.
