Very Academic, lacks examples, April 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Strategic Thinking for Information Technology (Paperback)
This book is very academic, and clearly intended for MBA students. It tends to focus heavily on "IT fighting" theory, but lacks real world examples of how the author or others have put them to use. As a new IT Manager, I learned a lot from this book about business strategy in general. But I don't feel like it has given me any specific ideas to work on immediately.

This book is full of great quotes and theory. It was extremely useful in developing a framework for an IS visioning session. Many of the examples and quotes were used to get the participants thinking. Well worth a read
