I think this book is a great additional to a content area teacher's library, but is probably the second Doug Fisher book to read. After reading Improving Adolescent Literacy: Strategies at Work I understand better where and when to use the easily described/pictured strategies and am confident that I can sell the importance of those activities to my middle schoolers.Strategies are 1-2 pages, some have text only description, but many have diagrams. All strategies are broken down in to before/after/during activiies. I can't wait to incorporate theseinto my classroom!

This resource is essential to an effective classroom! I wish I had this when I first began teaching...my life would have been so much easier! Thank goodness that it is available to all teachers now! The guide provides clear descriptions and instructions for providing students with some wonderful learning experiences. From pre reading to post reading...this guide covers it all! Kudos to the authors!

This textbook was required for a course I am taking in college. It was cheaper on Amazon than I could get at the local bookstore and it arrived in pristine condition in time for the start of classes.
