5.0 out of 5 stars Great Strategies for Parents and Professionals, June 7, 2008
This review is from: Strategies at Hand: Quick and Handy Strategies for Working wtih Students on the Autism Spectrum (Paperback)
This unique book is color coded with specific tips and ideas for students on the autism spectrum in regard to transitions, field trips, general education and special education, assemblies, how to prepare ahead of time for fire drills, hints for riding the bus, how to communicate with home on a daily basis and transitions for when there is a substitute teacher or another aide.

There are visuals to help guide the professional. This is a handy reference tool for the novice as well as other professionals that work with the autism population.

At this great price it is perfect to get for teachers and paraeducators for new school year gifts while the parents can read over the summer break to get it all figured out, especially the transitions if moving onto middle school from elementary school.

I learned a lot for my son who will be riding the school bus for the first time come the fall and guidelines for assemblies and fire drills.

What a great resource! After reviewing it, I bought several more to give to my son's regular ed and special ed teachers. This condenses so much useful information and I know it will help the teachers work more successfully with children with autism. Thank you to the authors!!!
