This review is from: Strategies for Teaching First-Year Composition (Paperback)
Collaboratively compiled and edited by educators and academicians Duane Roen, Veronica Pantoja, Lauren Yena, Susan K. Miller, and Eric Waggoner, Strategies For Teaching First-Year Composition is detailed, 626-page, resource-filled guide for specifically presented for the edification of first-year composition teachers in community colleges, liberal arts, colleges, state university systems, and research institutions. Individual chapters present a wealth of tested ideas and recommendations with regard to syllabi, peer-response activities, course management, suitable curricula, and much, much more. Highly valuable reading,
By Valerie (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Strategies for Teaching First-Year Composition (Paperback)
The short chapters in this book are packed with excellent information. I highly recommend this book to anyone entering the teaching of writing as a career/hobby (LOL... if you're an adjunct, that's all we can really call it if your level of pay is similar to many institutions).
The chapters are written by authors whose names I see frequently on the WPA listserv, so it's like reading work from dear friends.
