I found this book a thoroughly enjoyable read!

This book contains an easy-to-read writing style, useful research data and stunningly beautiful pictures! I particularly appreciate Mr. Alsheimer's willingness to share his personal views and his faith while giving the reader the best information available.

It's the sort of book I would (and will) read to develop my hunting skills and strategies, to challenge my approaches to field strategies, and for purely personal enjoyment!

I challenge anyone to read this book and NOT be thrilled, inspired and motivated to make the most of their time in God's great outdoors hunting those wonderful whitetails!

This book is very informative. It provides a detailed break down of why deer behave the way they do. It clearly defines the whitetail rut using documented research centered around phases of the moon. This book helped me fill in a lot of information gaps and has provided me with a better understanding of whitetail behavior. This book describes why certain strategies may be more successful during different parts of the season based on deer behavior.

I predict that in coming years, this book will become a classic in deer hunting, mentioned in the same sentence with Larry Koller's Shots at Whitetails, Theodore Van Dyke's The Still Hunter, and a very few others that have stood the test of time. If you want to be a better deer hunter, get Strategies for Whitetails soon, and study it before next deer season. Besides getting many tips from a master deer hunter and a healthy appreciation for America's greatest big game animal, the discussion of the five stages of a deer hunter will allow you to do some healthy self-analysis.

Strategies for Whitetails is truly a comprehensive book, and the author's love for the animal that has brought so much to his life comes through loud and clear. Excellent color photography, countless insights into the natural world, a low price for a high quality book... you'll be glad you bought it.

Once again, Charlie has put together an excellent whitetail book! This book has assembled years of great hunting experience and behavior of deer. It offers proven stategies and other biological information not found anywhere else. And oh by the way, it has awesome supporting photograpy. If you enjoy learning more about deer and practical help in chasing that trophy whitetail buck, then you will most certainly find this book a great read. This is one of the best books I have ever read on the subject, and I have read a lot of them. Enjoy!

The only thing better than this book is to have the priviledge to actually attend one of Charles Alsheimer's seminars. Not only will you be a better hunter but throughout the year you will appreciate the complexities of the whitetail deer. From observing deer year round to developing better hunting tactics, from quality deer management techniques, food plots, phases of the rut, the moon--yes the moon!, this book covers it all. You will not be disappointed with this book and I might add, subscribe to the Deer and Deer hunting magazine and buy the calendar for the complete package. I have personally bought several copies of this book as gifts for my hunting buddies and family. I'm not saying you will get a Boone and Crockett trophy but I did--a non-typical scoring 197 6/8, the only B&C trophy ever in Benton County, Arkansas. Best of luck, safe hunting. Ron Harp

This book is great. I have hunted for several years and have read so many books about white tail. This book is one of the best. It provides lots of useful information for hunters like what are the best areas, how to hunt deer in different times, how to control human odor, etc. Many of these topics are common in most books, however, strategies to whitetails still manage to add new information (at least to me). I think it is a very useful book that will add lots of information to whoever buys it despite of his/her hunting experience. This book is definitely worth its price in gold.

A book to pass on to your children or grandchildren, not only is Charlie Alsheimer a very knowledgeable hunter, but also a learned conservationist, QDMA specialist, not to mention his brilliant photography included in this book. It's certainly a book to be enjoyed by all. Great ideas, tips, and the chronological way it's presented. It's a "keeper" !
