This game is mostly fine, but it doesn't have as many pieces as original stratego which makes for a much shorter game. Also, the 'pirate rules' are difficult to follow and my kids rarely want to play that way. Disappointed that this game is so much smaller and the box for holding the pieces is cheap and doesn't hold up.

The Rule is simple, capture the flag.
Playing it once will not be enough. A bit confusing playing stratego for the first time user, but the second time you play, you'll be addicted.
As any other Stratego, the fun itself located on the thrill and the risk you about to take, BUT, it depends on your very first plan.
Play your Jack Sparrow or your Davy Jones brilliantly, but place it carefully.

But this particular version is a bit different from what I'm used to. If you're looking for something like the traditional Stratego, I would say look elsewhere. But if you don't mind the power of the numbers being reversed and some what of a twist to the game, then go with this one.

Loved the game as a kid, no loving it with my 8 yr old son. Quality was decent and the game provides a different test of strategy than other games like risk, monopoly, chess, checkers and the like. I'd recommend to anyone who has a child that likes strategy games.
