Scott Glatstein has written an easy-to-read business book that offers great insight as to why most strategies fail. Business strategies fail because of a lack of proper execution. This book clearly outlines how businesses can successfully implement their strategies through a holistic approach. This book will stay on my shelf for reference and will be shared with others in business - from product line marketers to executive leaders.

Glatstein hits a home run with his concisely written, Strategy Activation. The book contains a blue print for leading transformation in organizations and considers all aspects of the organization, from culture through process. He describes a methodology that really works. I would highly recommend this book to anyone facing a change and wanting it to actually get implemented.

Mr Glatstein wrote a great book here. There are lots of existing resources on how to create a strategy for business, but how many times these strategies never get fully implemented. This book fills a gap in any executive's learning. It showed me how to take theory (often expensive to create) and turn it into practical implentation (which is where the rubber hits the road). Its a fast read, practical, and it works. Refreshing book for a busy business person.

I'm not usually a fan of business books as they tend to be overly academic and difficult to apply to the real world. Strategy Activation is different. I read this book in two days and thought it was one of the best business books I've read. It was enjoyable to read (not the adjective usually used to describe a business strategy book!) and made so much sense. I think the model is ideal for thinking comprehensively about your business and bringing all facets together to support strategy. Better yet, it seems eminently implementable. I highly recommend this book.

Glatstein has done a great job of articulating the key reasons so many great strategies fail in the marketplace. More importantly, he lays out a roadmap for today's leader's to follow in getting organizations, processes and rewards aligned around executional excellence. The case studies referenced helped me better understand (as a non-marketer), why it is so critical to make certain everyone in an organization understands how their specific job impacts the customer experience.
