Great Grill, May 8, 2006
This review is from: Strathwood 4-Burner Gas Grill with Painted Cabinet and Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
I was hesitant to purchase this grill, since there were no reviews for it. It looked good and had excellent specs, but I couldnt find a review anywhere on the web. But I risked it, and I am very happy that I did.
The grill came packed in a big box, excellent packing. It could fall off a truck and still not have a dent or mark. The packaging was excellent, and the instructions were very good. All the parts were labeled well, and the unit was easy to put together. It took me about 2 hours total.
I am impressed with the quality of this grill. Everything is 304 stainless, except for the sides and back of the cabinet. All the stainless had plastic covering to avoid damage, and it was in great condition.
The burners are great also, and it has porcelean covered cast iron plates.
It is easy to wheel around and the castors are large and turn easily.
It heats up to 400 degrees very fast, but also cools down fast. Everytime I open the lid to turn over the meat it cools a lot, but then it heats fast again, so thats ok.
The only thing I dont like is the top bun warmer. When you flip it up, it allows for better access to things on the rear of thr grill. But if you forget to put the warmer down again, the lid wont close. Not a major thing, but it bugged me the first couple of times I used it. Now I just remember to lower the warmer 1st.
Overall, this is excellent value. I did a lot of shopping around in stores, and am very happy that I got this.
The price includes shipping.
Happy Grilling!

Nice Grill for the money, May 15, 2006
This review is from: Strathwood 4-Burner Gas Grill with Painted Cabinet and Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
Got this for a great price on the Friday sale. Took three hours to put together including about 40 minutes to unpack. Carton had to have weighed 170 pounds and all components were packaged well - but still found a dent on one of the cabinet doors.
Nice burners and great starters on this grill. Heavy lid with a nice temperature gage.
Would have like for the cabinet of the grill to be stainless like the lid and working surfaces. As the grill sits on the deck, you mostly see nothing by the black sides and black of the cabinet from the yard. Hard to know it is stainless unless you are the cook.
The heavy cooking grates look like they will last for a very long time.
Has a very nice setup to catch grease with easy cleanup. Much better than the Charbroil 9000 that this grill replaced.

So far so good.., June 14, 2006
This review is from: Strathwood 4-Burner Gas Grill with Painted Cabinet and Side Burner (Lawn & Patio)
I was lucky enough to grab this on the Friday sale for $299. In my opinion it is much better than any other grill I looked at for that price-range. Its very solidly built, and was easy to put together. I'll agree with others on the quality control - a minor thing for me - one of the grates was a little "jagged" on the bottom so it doesn't sit totally flat and rocks a little. No big deal, but I'll see how the return/replacement department works next week.
One thing strange is that my cabinet doors are stainless steel and not painted (4 burner model).
Can't comment too much on the cooking - i mean it works. So far what ive cooked has come out great, and I haven't noticed any "hot spots", so the heat-distribution is even. I'll know more at the end of the summer.
