4.0 out of 5 stars Anti-Gravity Chari
Comfortable and well constructed. It came without instructions for operating the reclining mechanism and it's a little tricky. This chair may not be suitable for wide people. It's fairly narrow.

2.0 out of 5 stars cannot be left in the rain
I bought three of these chairs last summer. They are actually quite good looking and comfortable, but I didn't know you couldn't leave them in the rain. They immediately rusted and dripped rust on our deck. They must be brought in when it rains, which is not convenient for us. I would not have bought these if I had known they were not weather resistant.

4.0 out of 5 stars It is worth the price., November 11, 2008
It is value for your money. The chair is very comfortable and reclines as expected. The only problem was it came without instructions. The shipping box looked like it had to fight a cyclone.
You have to look for the small circular ring under the armrest to adjust the recliner and lock it by lifting it up when the desired position is attained.
Not as great as the 300$ recliners. But definitely worth 60$.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
May 19, 2011: UPDATE. It's time to get the Recliner out and go for a third season of use. Without exception this chair looks almost exactly as it looked in 2009 when it arrived. Two seasons of use and it's still like new. After sun, rain and lots of wind I am delighted with the Strathwood.

Do not use this if you have work to do. If you have the slightest bit of sleep in your system and relax in this recliner you are going to go to sleep. I set this up on the deck with the intention of reading a while and then finishing some other tasks related to spring cleanup. Whoops. Some fairy sprinkled sleep dust in my eyes and away I went. Thank goodness our street is populated by a pack of fools driving Harleys who believe they can take the curve out front at 50 MPH in 2nd gear. I don't know about anti-gravity but the recliner-chair is really comfortable.

This recliner is one of those items that far exceed expectations. Having been an ally of old fashioned cheap recliners I was taken aback with the quality and weight of this recliner. It is heavy enough not to get blown away with a breeze or even a strong wind. Unlike the old fashioned cheap ones it will hold with ease those of us who have managed to exceed normal weight limits. You'll have to determine those limits. It holds Blubba and me with ease. Not both of us together. Just one or the other. Maybe both. Later. March 26 update: It is later now and I forgot to include a comment about the included pillow. I was so excited to try out the recliner I forgot to empty the full contents of the packing box. Lo and behold the pillow was there and it sure adds a nice touch to an already nice recliner. Please permit one other comment. The craftsmanship for the recliner is perfect: not rough edges or annoying sharp edges. It's well made. Can't use now: too rainy. Later

3.0 out of 5 stars Help, I'm reclining and I can't get up ..., August 1, 2008
By
I could really love this chair if only I could get in and out of it without so much difficulty. At full recline, the zero gravity effect is wonderful. However, for as much as I want to use this chair, getting into and out of it is just too challenging.

P.S. I'm a senior and I'm tall. Thirty years ago, no big deal!

Strathwood makes a version of these comfortable chairs but they tweaked the original version in ways that make it difficult to love. First, I have to really push back on it to get it to recline, second, one of the arm-rest locks does not lock and the other is difficult to lock and finally the head cushion is attached with thin elastic that will stretch and slide down within weeks (I drilled and screwed mine in place). Best bet: buy one you can test in a store, often they are cheaper.

This review is from: Strathwood Basics Anti-Gravity Adjustable Recliner Chair, Caribbean Blue (Lawn & Patio)
Amazon is great and their service is superb and this does not really reflect on them as they took them back immediately and were very easy to work with and I continue to do business with them all the time, but these chairs are to be avoided because they are not made of aluminum. I took them out of the box, set them up in the back yard, they are quite comfortable. Later in the day there was a rain storm, no big deal, outdoor furniture is made for that right? Not these babies. I sat and reclined in one the day after the rain and as I tilted back, behold I received a deluge of rusty water which ruined my shorts and would have stained my concete had I not hosed it off immed. The other two chairs followed suit when reclined so back they went. Why would anyone make an outdoor chair out of something that would rust in one day?

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality, August 3, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this chair and had to return it a few weeks later. I noticed a rivet was missing when I first set it up, but I determined the chair would be OK without it. Then after it was on the deck for a few weeks and it rained a few times, the chair was dripping rust all over our deck. Apparently the inside of the tubing is uncoated and it rusted everywhere.
I told Amazon about it and they sent me a return label to print, however I had to pay for the shipping and a restocking fee!!
Restocking? It is a piece of junk. Give me a break!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable...for the cost., November 10, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Just remember, you get what you pay for. Although this is a nice chair, I have seen better. It seems to recline slightly further than other 0-gravity chairs which was kind of odd. I will consider a slightly more expensive model next time. Otherwise...this product is OK.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not well put together, March 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this and within the first week of normal use it broke. The soldering on that attached the cloth to the metal part of the chair started to break and I sent it back. btw I only weight 142lbs so you can judge the durability based on that...not good at all. The chair was very comfortable for the week that it lasted though.
