The tightly woven wicker strands are made from durable polyethylene (PE) resin, which is designed to withstand fading, weathering, and aging within a temperature range of -70C (-94F) to 80C (176F) degrees. The washable wicker strands have a powder-coated finish with a modest sheen that easily sheds drizzle and accidental drips, and its looks will remain unchanged for three years under normal useage. No assembly required.
The wicker-covered seat has a gentle, rounded concave curve with a good bounce, while the back offers good lumbar support. The seat back can lay flat, or be adjusted upright in six different positions. The artfully curved, silvery gray arms are topped by a cherry-hued wood. The strong, aluminum frame offers curved details, block-wood legs on the front, and rubber wheels on the back for easy movement around your patio. When extended flat, this lounger measures 73.5 inches long and 24 inches wide.
The term "wicker" doesn't refer to a particular material, but a style of construction that weaves together stiff strands of fibers such as rattan, willow, and bamboo. Woven furniture has been around since ancient Egypt, but wicker is believed to have been given its name in Scandinavia--with wika meaning to bend and vikker meaning willow in Swedish. Wicker was first popularized in America in the 1850s, and was used extensively in the Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the 20th century.

Poorly manufactured,

This review is from: Strathwood Camano All-Weather Wicker Sun Lounger Chair, Brown (Lawn & Patio)
This item was a disapointment. Looks great in the picture but is cheaply made. Peices of the wicker were coming loose. The item is also very short. I am 5ft 10 and my feet stick off the end by a couple of inches. I guess you get what you pay for. If you spend $800-$1000 you will get much better construction and at the end of the day will last longer than this.

Overall, the chair looks great and is a fantastic deal. I've had mine outside and uncovered for a few rainy months and it has held up well. There has been a little wear around the feet and arm rests but that's to be expected given the rain and mud. There is some flex to the resin wicker that makes it comfortable right out of the box although I still prefer to lounge with a cushion. The arm rests looks sleek but are a bit low-- my arms don't reach them while sitting. The chair is shorter than others but that's part of the appeal-- it fits into a smaller space on my patio.
