Durable yet surprisingly lightweight, this cast aluminum sofa provides relaxing, deep-seated comfort. Shop the collection to easily create a fashionable and functional patio retreat. The sofa is constructed of wide, thin strips of black, powder-coated aluminum. Ideal for use in outdoor furniture, cast aluminum is heavier and sturdier than standard aluminum but much lighter than cast iron. It's also quite resistant to chipping, fading, and rusting. The slat design on the seat allows for maximum aeration and the criss-cross design on the back provides good support and makes for a stylish, good-looking view of the sofa from the back. Overall, the 2-seater sofa measures 51.2 inches wide by 34.8 inches deep by 32.5 inches tall and weighs 35.3 pounds. The sofa arrives completely assembled for immediate enjoyment.

Adding comfort to the sturdy design are thick, comfortably filled cushions which are secured to the chair via Velcro straps. Designed for all weather, the zippered cushions are upholstered in 100 percent Olefin and filled with 50 percent polyester and 50 percent PU foam. Seat cushions measure 25.6 inches wide by 29.5 inches deep by 4 inches thick; back cushions measure 19.7 inches high by 25.6 inches wide by 4 inches thick.

Cushion Care and Cleaning: Gently brush off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabric and wipe up any spills as soon as they occur. Gently spot clean only with mild soap and cool water using a sponge or soft brush, then air dry cushions in a sunny location. Bring cushions indoors during inclement weather and store in a dry place when not in use.

I read all the comments of those who had ordered the pieces and decided that I would take a chance on this set and I couldn't be happier. I tend to be leary of ordering bulky items like this since returning would be a major hassle, but I won't be returning my set. The color of the set is a very dark chocolate color, borderline black. After reading some of the comments, I was concerned that the aluminum slates might be flimsy, but I am happy to report the slates are solid and not flimsy at all. I also was very impressed with how the set was shipped. The chairs come as a set in one box and shipped by Eagle USA. The sofa comes in a very large box. The packaging by Strathwood is very well done and completely protected with the very thick cardboard box. Even tho there is no assembly, it still took me 30 minutes to take all the wrapping of the sofa and chairs. I have to agree with other comments that the cushions do not appear that they will last very long (time will tell), but that was the least of my worries when ordering this set. I do recommend Scotchgarding the fabric.

I've purchased a few pieces of this Strathwood Falkner set. I received 2 of the dining chairs before I received this 2 Seater.

The Good - The aluminum base is sturdy and good-looking and looks like it will last. And the design is beautiful.

The not so good -
The base is not black as stated, but a dark brown/gray. I prefer this color over black, but not so good for someone trying to match black.

The cushions leave a lot to be desired. First, they aren't even near the color or fabric as on the dining chairs. The fabric on the dining chairs is a thin basic smooth off-white canvas type material. The cushions on the 2 seater are almost light peachy yellow in color and a more tweed, textured material. I did think that at least the cushions would all match! And the quality is only so so on the cushions.

The sizing is not quite as stated. I am putting this in a small space and every inch counts. It says it's 29 inches deep but put flush against the wall it comes out 33 inches.

I would buy this again but I would plan to replace the cushions.

Despite the other positive reviews on this sofa, it is poorly made. Although it looks nice and like more expensive outside furniture, mine broke in less than a week. The metal just split on one of the legs. Just for the record, I weigh 150 lbs, so it wasn't an overloading issue. Anyway, amazon was great about returning the item, so that's a plus. I've been beginning to learn that you get what you pay for, so I just went out and bought a sofa from pottery barn. Couldn't be happier with it.
