I read all the comments of those who had ordered the pieces and decided that I would take a chance on this set and I couldn't be happier. I tend to be leary of ordering bulky items like this since returning would be a major hassle, but I won't be returning my set. The color of the set is a very dark chocolate color, borderline black. After reading some of the comments, I was concerned that the aluminum slates might be flimsy, but I am happy to report the slates are solid and not flimsy at all. I also was very impressed with how the set was shipped. The chairs come as a set in one box and shipped by Eagle USA. The sofa comes in a very large box. The packaging by Strathwood is very well done and completely protected with the very thick cardboard box. Even tho there is no assembly, it still took me 30 minutes to take all the wrapping of the sofa and chairs. I have to agree with other comments that the cushions do not appear that they will last very long (time will tell), but that was the least of my worries when ordering this set. I do recommend Scotchgarding the fabric.

I've purchased a few pieces of this Strathwood Falkner set. I received 2 of the dining chairs before I received this 2 Seater.

The Good - The aluminum base is sturdy and good-looking and looks like it will last. And the design is beautiful.

The not so good -
The base is not black as stated, but a dark brown/gray. I prefer this color over black, but not so good for someone trying to match black.

The cushions leave a lot to be desired. First, they aren't even near the color or fabric as on the dining chairs. The fabric on the dining chairs is a thin basic smooth off-white canvas type material. The cushions on the 2 seater are almost light peachy yellow in color and a more tweed, textured material. I did think that at least the cushions would all match! And the quality is only so so on the cushions.

The sizing is not quite as stated. I am putting this in a small space and every inch counts. It says it's 29 inches deep but put flush against the wall it comes out 33 inches.

I would buy this again but I would plan to replace the cushions.

Despite the other positive reviews on this sofa, it is poorly made. Although it looks nice and like more expensive outside furniture, mine broke in less than a week. The metal just split on one of the legs. Just for the record, I weigh 150 lbs, so it wasn't an overloading issue. Anyway, amazon was great about returning the item, so that's a plus. I've been beginning to learn that you get what you pay for, so I just went out and bought a sofa from pottery barn. Couldn't be happier with it.

We ordered 2 of the three cushion sofas on 7/19 to create our own
L-shaped seating for our screened-in porch. The gentlemen arrived from Ceva (shipping company) on 7/25, unloaded it off their truck, unpacked it and moved it onto our screened-in porch. They left with the boxes and most of the trash.

We took the rest of the packaging off the sofa frames and the cushions out of the plastic wrap and discovered that we had the wrong "seat back" cushions. They accidentally sent loveseat cushions. (Seat cushions were the correct size.) That was a little annoying, but we were certain that could be taken care of with a quick phone call.

While standing back to appreciate the new look for our screened-in porch, I noticed the left front leg on one sofa seemed off-kilter. On closer inspection, we discovered the weld on the leg was severely cracked. We inspected all the leg welds and found that one leg on the other sofa was also severely cracked. So both sofas were defective. We called the shipping company (Ceva) because the men who had unloaded our sofas had literally JUST left our home. Ceva said we had to work it out first with Amazon. We talked to Amazon who were very apologetic and said they would begin working right away on the return. They offered another set at no additional cost or to return this set with a full refund, including shipping. I think we were waivering at first, but feel that it would be better to spend the $800 on a better quality sofa than get two for this price -- knowing that the welds don't appear to be reinforced at the stress points.

We REALLY want to like this set because they look gorgeous out back. But if the welds aren't reinforced at each stress point, then how long will they last without cracking? Not sure if they were cracked before they shipped or during shipping, but cracking SHOULDN'T be an issue.

I loved the deep seating sofa immediately. It is so relaxing. The white cushions are very forgiving. Unfortunately one of the center legs has alreday broken at the weld line.

The loveseat and the rest of the set are fabulous! It is very very similar to sets sold by both Restoration Hardware and Plow & Hearth, but for a mere fraction of the price.

As others have said, I am not too impressed with the cushions, but the sizes are fairly standard so finding replacement cushions is pretty easy (and even after buying new cushions, the furniture is still significantly cheaper than that sold by other retailers). I recommend keeping an eye on the Restoration Hardware website. They have outdoor cushions on sale all the time, and if you happen to hit it when they first list a particular line on sale, it is easy to get a full set (dining chairs, lounge furniture, chaises, ottomans, etc.) I just bought fabulous replacement Sunbrella cushions from Restoration Hardware for six Strathwood Falkner dining chairs , 2 lounge chairs, a loveseat and a couple chaise lounges for roughly $600 in total. It would cost a small fortune at full price (over $2500!!), but on sale it was more than manageable. GOOD LUCK!

FOLLOW-UP POST: One season has passed and I still love this furniture. Another Amazon customer asked for details on the replacement cushions from Restoration Hardware. I bought the "Providence" collection pillows from Restoration Hardware. For the lounge chairs, specifically, the replacement pillows measure 24-3/8"W x 28-1/2"L x 5-1/2"H for the bottom cushion and 24-3/8"W x 16 "L x 5-1/2"H for the top cushion (they are currently on sale for $69 for the set, normally $295). They fit very well. If you happened to buy a few pieces, you can buy a set of three pillow sets and save a little more money (listed as the "Sofa Cushion Set" at Restoration Hardware for $179, which translates to $59.67 per set). These pillows work for the lounge chairs and the loveseat as well (I am not sure about the larger sofa since I don't have that, but I am guessing it would be fine). I hope you love the set as much as I do.

A month ago I received the Strathwood Falkner 2 Seater Deep Lounge Sofa, the Strathwood Falkner Lounge Deep Seat Arm Chairs, the coffee table and the set of three nesting tables. I wanted to use the set for a few weeks before submitting this review.

First of all, the delivery experience was amazing. Each item was shipped to my door within a week and required no assembly. (Suggestion: when unpacking this set, use scissors to cut through all the plastic tape, then all the foam/paper wrapping rips right off. I came very close to scratching the finish when I attempting using a utility knife to free my sofa!)

The frames are lightweight, yet are very sturdy. When the cushions are put away for the winter, the snow will not damage this set because it cannot build up due to the slats. They're easy to keep clean, completely functional and beautiful. I still cannot get over the value.

In regard to the infamous white cushions...I was attracted to them for two main reasons. I knew that whatever color or pattern toss pillows I could dream-up, they'd look fabulous and because the cushions cannot fade-out in the sun! HOWEVER, Holy Mackerel are these things dirt-magnets. If I ever get them clean again I'll use a product such as scotchguard to protect them.

Today I attempted to unzip the covers to wash them. I was disenchanted upon making the discovery (duh on my part) that the decorative button inhibits the removal of the covers since it's fastened to the bottom. My scissors are just about ready to make the snip.

My solution? I just ordered replacement cushions that are not white and that have no buttons. I justified the purchase by telling myself that the entire set plus replacement cushions is still much less of an investment than any other deep seating set that I considered. Plus I truly prefer this design over anything else I've seen. Overall, I'd highly recommend this set.

I ordered this item based on its reviews and the reviews of chairs and 3-seater sofa on amazon.

I bought a 2-seater sofa, 1 set of 2 armchairs, 2 ottomans, 2 side tables and 1 coffee table.

Every item has exceeded my expectation. Since this is a review space for 2 seater sofa, let me say something about that item.

About the Sofa (and the ottomans):
-- Very nice weight. I got it set up just few hours back. Today I stopped by Crate and Barrel and saw their outdoor aluminum that looks similar. Not only did the set look less roomy, but also it felt flimsier. Their cushions are thinner.
-- Powder coating is of good quality. It does get hot in the sun however; and since I have a baby I will need to protect her.
-- Cushions are a bit on the firmer side. Once again, I found them to be better supportive than Crate and Barrel. I have sat on another line from Restoration H; and these cushions are comparable. I have read reviews on the falkner line from others, that cushions are bad. Either I have no taste in cushions or they got lemons; for I indeed do think my cushions are nice. However, I plan to compare with RH cushions one more time.
-- Cushion color is nice; but they would get dirty. This, I had read before, but I "understood" as soon as I looked at these. I am looking into applying fabric protector.
-- The cushions are zippered and velcroed. Nice touch.
-- I will post a review when I wash my cushions for the first time, if I do, w/o fabric protector.
-- This set is finished very well. At $1100 for the entire set I would not call it a bargain however definitely best value for money from all that I considered!! Yes, quality-wise, it is comparable to other retailer and is indeed at a fraction of the cost.
**PS: My 4-stars because, I will need to run around protecting the fabric etc and therefore some loose ends remain. **

This is a great piece of lounging patio furniture. It sits low and deep. I agree with the other reviewers that the frame is not black and the cushions are not white but off white. The cushions are okay but I will probably replace them with something else. But the sofa frame is really what I was looking for - a comfortable piece of furniture for me and my cats to hang out and chill.

Just received the loveseat and sofa today. It took me awhile to order this set, been searching for the right set. The set is beautiful and well made. The great thing about it was it came assembled and great packaging from Strathwood. I would recommend buying some pillows for the pieces to help with back support. Compared this set with some from Crate and Barrel and Restoration, for the price it was well worth it and much less but has the same quality. Now I have an outdoor living room to entertain.
