Product Description

Strathwood has broadened its handsome collection of cast-aluminum furniture with the St. Thomas ensemble. Durable yet surprisingly lightweight, this round dining table adds a more upscale look to a deck or patio than wooden furniture and is easier to move around. The table is designed with an ornamental scrolling vine motif in a dark-brown finish with bronze highlights and silver flecks. A 2-inch umbrella hole in the table's center gives the option of eating under protection from sun or rain, or al fresco in the sunshine or moonlight. The table's open scroll design provides a smooth, even surface so dishes won't wobble off balance, and allows rain water to fall through and dry out. The table is part of the fully coordinating Strathwood St. Thomas Dining Collection that includes a choice of matching dining chair styles. For a more fully accessorized look, pair the table with pieces in Strathwood's St. Thomas Deep Seating Collection. The all-weather, easy-care St. Thomas furniture is made from the highest grade of aluminum. Pieces are sand casted, covered in a powder-coat finish, and designed to be rust-free. Some easy assembly is required on arrival. Sized for comfort and utility, this round dining table measures 47-1/2 inches in diameter by 28-1/2 inches high and weighs 48-1/2 pounds. Screw-on glides underneath the table's legs allow some leeway in adjusting for uneven surfaces. For easier assembly, turn the table upside down first. It may require more than one person to connect the table legs and the connecter bracket. Strathwood furniture has quality, ease of use, and casual elegance at its core. Each piece is rigorously tested for durability, and assembly instructions have been standardized for simplicity from start to finish. Strathwood furniture is sleekly designed, handsomely finished, and built to last. This classic style and reliable craftsmanship will weather ever-changing trends and regular use for years to come

Bought this table after a major wind/rain storm blew my glass one upside down and it broke in a million pieces. Figured all metal would be better, and also it has holes in it so the wind would pass right through and it would not be blown away. It was delivered within three days, but was missing the hardware. I called Amazon and was told they could not send me out "just the hardware," so they would have to send out a whole new table. They also said they would send a truck to pick up the first table. Sure enough, within three more days, the truck had come to pick up the first table, and I had the new one, with the hardware intact. My son put it together in less than 10 minutes. It is absolutely beautiful. Very strong and sturdy. I have received so many compliments on it. Glasses stand upright and do not tip over if place on the spaces, as the spaces are very small. The color is great, too. The chairs I have are still in very good condition, so I wanted to keep them, but was concerned because they are black wrought iron. Well, they blend in just fine with the brown table and do not clash. The brown is very dark. I would buy this table again, have no regrets about this purchase, or dealing with Amazon. They resolved my problem quickly and thoroughly. Absolutely satisfied with everything!!!

Have now purchased every piece in the St. Thomas collection save for the umbrella, chaise, and the regular dining chairs, having opted for deep-seating instead. I'd give this collection an A+ for appearance, a B+ for ease of table assembly, and a B for quality. (Chairs come assembled.) We shopped the high-end patio stores for months. Like Goldilocks, we sat and slept in it all. But my eye kept coming back to this collection. Though some reviews gave me pause, and I didn't want to buy anything I couldn't sit in, I still couldn't get it out of my mind. Plus the price is just over 1/3 of the high-end stuff. So we started ordering it in dribs and drabs, just to see. Wow, nice surprise!

The finish, as someone said, is NOT sparkly gold. I wish it was, but helpful reviewers forewarned us. The lighting on the St. Thomas photos give it a gold shimmer, and it is not. It is silver over a bronzy-brown. Yes, legs are hollow aluminum. Much of what's on the market is the same. Every piece in this collection has good leg-levelers that are easy to use.

The nitty-gritty: Okay, Winston or Castelle this is not. We found a couple of burrs that had to be filed off. Two of our four tables had a tiny dimple-dent in their rims. But these things were so very minor. They will never be noticed, and I'm a bit OCD. All the welds looked good, the hardware was not the cheap, strippable stuff, packaging was simple and 95% recyclable. Every piece of the St. Thomas looks like it cost at least twice the price. Everything was packed well save for the deep-seating arm chairs, which were just wrapped and tied together, and dropped into a box. ??? Odd. But we ordered two sets, and both made it.

All tables are packed well. Scant instructions, but you don't need much.

I needed to replace three glass-top tables which blew over and shattered in strong winds. To avoid a repetition of that problem, I decided to purchase metal ones which would presumably be too heavy to blow around and wouldn't break even if flipped. Most patio shops around here have powder-coated aluminum tables for 2 to 3 times what this one costs so I was particularly interested in this Strathwood table at $239. I looked carefully at the reviews about the packaging problems and misaligned screw-holes that others noted but figured that I would give it a try. I didn't expect top quality at this price, but certainly expected more than I got. They both arrived the other day in boxes that were almost completely destroyed. I even took pictures of them before trying to move them just in case I had to file a complaint. I eventually had to unpack them where they were. Despite the damage to the boxes, the table tops and legs inside were intact and undamaged, but I did have to search for missing parts that were scattered on my driveway, presumably from the delivery person dragging the open boxes from the truck. When I tried to assemble the tables the next day, I found misaligned screw-holes as have others, and four screws that attach the legs to one of the table tops stripped as I tightened them. There are also uncountable sharp edges along the inside edges of the scrollwork. Bottom line - it's an inexpensive table so be aware that the insufficient packaging could cause problems, that assembly can be a challenge and that while the table looks nice from a distance, up close the finish quality leaves a lot to be desired. At this price you definitely get what you pay for... but no more.

The reviews were half correct. Yes the table is very easy to assemble; yes the scroll work on the table is beautiful. However, where the reviews fall very short is the size of the table. There is no way that a 48" round table will seat 6 comfortably, let alone 8 cozy as the other review stated. A 48" round table is meant for 4 people. Also, it would be EXTREMELY helpful if Amazon posted the deminsions.
