5.0 out of 5 stars Great Health Product!
Let me start by saying that I am NOT a doctor/nurse or anyone with a formal education in herbs or medicine. Now that I have my disclaimer out of the way, I will tell you that this product was recommended to me by a friend who is an unofficial herbalist for improved immune system and circulation.

Let me start by saying that I am NOT a doctor/nurse or anyone with a formal education in herbs or medicine. Now that I have my disclaimer out of the way, I will tell you that this product was recommended to me by a friend who is an unofficial herbalist for improved immune system and circulation.

It's in liquid format and there is a dropper dispenser inside the bottle. The first 2 ingredients (that which the product has the most of) are garlic and hawthorn berry. I have read many times that garlic (which is a blood thinner) is good for circulation, immune system, blood pressure, and tons of other related health issues. I have also read that Hawthorn Berry is good for controlling hypertension. I have been using this product for 6 days and I THINK it may be lowering my blood pressure already. I also FEEL better already, as though it is cleansing me from the inside out.

My friend suggested 20 drops in water daily, so that is what I do. He has been using it himself for some time and both he, his wife, and their grown children swear by it.

Just 2 points:
1) Expect a strong taste of garlic when you take it.
2) You might want to start with less than 20 drops for a couple of days. It could make you a little crampy at first, like garlic sometimes does to people not used to a lot of it.

I received a tri-fold pamphlet with the bottle which provides testimonials from people how the drops have helped them. They include: how good they make an 81 year old woman feel, how they have helped with circulation (cold feet; improved walking; can go up and down stairs without losing breath; normal blood pressure; improved general health; improved sleep; reduced or no leg cramps; thoughts of life instead of death; etc.

The brochure states the product has been helping people for over 25 years and there have been no reports that the drops are incompatible with prescription heart medicine. It says they help to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system. It says the drops help to:
- Promote blood supply to the heart
- Maintain normal fat and cholesterol levels
- Maintain normal blood and oxygen levels
- Promote circulation
- Maintain normal heart beat
- Maintain normal blood pressure
- Support normal vision
- Relieve angina pain.

The trifold says that 15 drops (3 times daily) is adequate for most individuals. For those with heart problems, use 30 drops 3 times a day. For advanced heart and circulation problems, use 30 - 60 3 times a day.

Note: I take as a preventative--no heart trouble, but I do have to watch my blood pressure. What I have been doing sometimes is putting 20 drops in a bottle of water, throwing in some Noni or Acai or Pomegranate juice, and drinking it throughout the day. Then sometimes I just take my 20 drops in 2-4 oz of water and chug it down (chug a lug chug a lug). Usually I put about 5 drops under my tongue each morning just to bop myself awake. Then I drink my coffee or tea. But I only do about 20 drops a day, sometimes a wee bit more.

Update June 6, 2009--Still loving it. I take it in about 2 ounces of water in the morning, before I leave for work. Since it is a liquid, it feels like it is immediately being absorbed. I actually like the garlicky taste. I drink about another 2 to 4 ounces of water behind it and then drink coffee or tea on the way to work. It seems to perform much better than taking garlic tablets (and no, I do not smell like garlic and I do not burp garlic).

Update June 30, 2009--Just bought a second bottle. I have plenty left but I do not want to be without it. Judging from where I am with the first bottle, I would guess there is at least 3 months to a bottle.

Update early Sept 2009--I have been taking this every day for about 3 1/2 months. About a week or two ago I started to double up. I now take 20 drops in the morning. I put another 20 in a bottle of water and drink that at work. I was having some fluid retention in my legs and I was a little slow going up and down steps. I also had to wait a minute when I first stood up after sitting for awhile for my legs to catch up with me. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. About a week ago, I noticed that the movement in my legs is much better. I no longer feel like I am pulling myself up steps with my arms AND I can jump right out of my SUV and start walking right away, even after sitting for an hour or two. If it has helped that much with my legs, I wonder how much it has done on the inside? I LOVE it and I do not smell like a garlic clove either. I might try to work my way up (later) to 3 times a day (a total of 60 drops), but right now, I will stay with 40 drops a day.

I do recommend you move slow with it though. It tastes like liquid raw garlic and if you are not used to a lot of garlic, it might upset your stomach. I also understand that garlic is a blood thinner, so you absolutely MUST talk to a doctor before using this product if you are already on a blood thinner or aspirin-a-day therapy. If you have acid-reflux or any kind of digestive disorder, my guess is that it would bother you too. You are supposed to talk to your doctor first anyway, because some products can interact with or block the effects of medications you may be on, so, just a word of caution, especially if you are not in perfect health (whatever THAT is).

Update 10/30/09: I realized about 2 weeks ago that the strength in my knees also increased. It took me the last 2 weeks to believe it was really true before I reported it to you. It just did not seem possible.
Update 11/22/09: Legs already stronger. Knees still getting stronger. Again, seems impossible but it is happening. I am still at 40 drops per day, 20 out of the dropper and under the tongue each morning. The other 20 drops go in a 24 oz bottle of water that I drink during the day.

This review is from: Strauss Herbs Heart Drops 3.4 oz (100mL) (Health and Beauty)
I recently purchased Strauss Heart Drops on the strong recommendation of my
brother-in-law. My brother-in-law had started taking Strauss Heart drops
fairly recently. I do not know exactly when. He died of cardiac arrest on
December 3 (less than a month after recommending this product to me) at the
end of his usual work day of trading stock. My brother-in-law successfully
operated a small stock trading fund with a number of clients for roughly a
decade. I was one of his clients.

I have no scientific basis for reaching any conclusion about the efficacy (or
possible lack of efficacy) of Strauss Heart Drops for slowing or reversing
the gradual degradation of the circulatory system with age as is advertised.
The product may be quite efficacious. Also, I know from my own experience
that a high level of stress is associated with the calling of stock trading.

There is also the issue, largely unaddressed by the fields of pharmacology
and medicine, of the resulting effects of taking various combinations of
pharmaceutical products (and possibly various foods and nutritional
suppliments).

But, the coincidence of my brother-in-laws death and having started using
the product only a few months ago is too strong for me to ignore. So, I have
ceased using the product.
