Stunning music, not best recording quality, August 17, 2011

I am a huge fan of the Strausses (even the unrelated ones, but that's a different discussion). This CD set features mostly Johann Jr, with 3 waltzes from brother Joseph. I am by no means a classical music connoisseur, and will not pretend to be, so will not comment on the technical execution of the pieces, etc. I know I like what I hear, and my 15-year old (autistic) daughter, who is very picky about the kinds of music she listens to, LOVES it.
The only reason I did not give this 5 stars, is that this is obviously not a studio-quality recording. It sounds like it is a vinyl recording put on CD, and has a small "hiccup" in the middle of "Sphärenklänke" - unfortunately my favourite waltz. If you plan on listening to this on a high-end stereo or with earphones, it may be bothersome. We listen to it in the car, or pipe it in the background in the house while doing homework or sleeping, so it is not bad enough to return the CD's.
In all, a decent collection for the price.
