This review is from: Strauss: Piano Quartet Op. 13 (Audio CD)
.A nice disc, well played and recorded, of early Strauss. Passé to term it "Brahmsian," but it is--although some inflections (like the long, melodic lines in movement I) hint at Strauss' later style. For other of Strauss' chamber works, see: Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 5 / R. Strauss: Burleske / Glenn Gould Richard Strauss: Ophelia-Lieder, Op. 67; Enoch Arden, Op. 38; Piano Sonata, Op. 5; 5 Piano Pieces, Op. 3 Richard Strauss: Sonata, Op. 5; 5 Piano String Quartet Strauss: Music for Wind Instruments, Vol. 1 Strauss: Serenade, Op. 7; Suite, Op. 4; Sonatina "Aus der Werkstatt eines Invaliden" Richard Strauss: Sonatinen Nos. 1 & 2 Strauss: Lieder .
