Rarely performed 1945 version of the Firebird Suite: extended and with piano, December 16, 2010

The original score and the derived suites were without the orchestral use of piano (but with celesta). This 1945 score shows an extended suite (29:26 min), scored with orchestral piano. It is well played and the other pieces (Jeu de Cartes & Symphony in 3 Movements) are played very very good. Craft is for the neoclassical Stravinsky often the best choice in my opinion. Jeu de Cartes & Symphony in 3 Movements are reissued on Naxos.
