Ten really good songs, The Meddler, and then a new song. Yes, in that exact order. If I had it to do again, I'd probably just buy Fizgig. I guess the Remastering is good, but not sure if it's worth the added expense if you already own the other albums. Seriously, some of these songs are only 2 years old. How much has audio technology changed that we have to remaster them already?

All the songs on here are quality. What really interested me the most was the new song. Bought it as a Christmas gift for someone who doesn't own any of their cd's. If you have all of their cd's I don't see much of a reason to purchase this one, but if you're interested in it, go to Best Buy and purchase the extended version which has 4 aditional songs. One of which is from Point #1, which is the only cd really in need of remastering in my opinion.

There are some key tracks missing. Chevelle was smart though in not calling it a "Best Of" or "Greatest Hits", though it almost is. It would be complete if tracks "Letter From A Thief", "Closure", and "Point #1" were included. Of course there are other great tracks as well, but then you get into Anthology territory and Chevelle's discography isn't really deep enough for such a collection yet. There's only one track here I don't really feel belongs and that would be "The Meddler". Still, for anyone who doesn't want all of Chevelle's cds this a pretty good collection to pick up.

If you want this album I strongly suggest you visit Chevelle's website, go to the store and buy it there. If you order it there you will also receive a DVD of the music videos (but beware it comes in one of those thin paper sleeves). That is the only reason I bought it, with the shipping it only cost about $23. I've read reviews saying "Go to Best Buy, theres bonus songs" but I think this is a better deal. If you love the bonus songs ("Saferwaters", "Open/Point#1", "Envy", and "Closure") that much odds are you already own the albums.
As for the remastering, I didn't notice it on every song (yet). It's more like they remixed some songs, put a little more emphasis on the vocals (This was especially obvious in "The Red"). It's not particularly necessary and not everyone may notice it. There are a couple of songs from WWN as well as all of Point#1, that would have benefitted from being remastered but they are not included here. As for the new song it's good. It seems a bit misplaced not really fitting in with the rest of the album.
This album is best for people not very well acquainted with but interested in Chevelle's music.

New single Fizgig. If you don't already follow these guys the way starving dogs follow a wounded and bleeding steer, get the album Stray Arrows. If it doesn't bite you someplace you can't scratch, leaving you burning for more of the very same itch, nothing they've gots gonna.

Here is the track list for this version that is exclusive to a major chain store in competition with Amazon. It includes tracks from their first album Point #1:

1.Jars
2. Same Old Trip
3. Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)
4. The Red
5. I Get It
6. Face To The Floor
7. Saferwaters
8. Send The Pain Below
9. Sleep Apnea
10. The Clincher
11. Open/Point #1
12. Envy
13. Hats Off To The Bull
14. The Meddler
15. Closure
16. Fizgig

I'm a bit sad this doesn't have MIA on it, one of the better tracks from Point #1, but am excited it does include that album, as it is often forgotten, but shouldn't be. Great introduction for a new listener, and good for a collector to have many hits in one spot. Plus Fizgig is a fair track to add to the collection, worth it for me.

I really like the additional songs on the album as well as the many hits that this compilation album offers. I say this every time I listen, its just so hard to believe this much sound comes from just 3 performers.

Chevelle is one of my favorite band and here you have some of the best of their work. For people not familiar with their work, this is a great jumping on point to find out just how amazing their music is.
