I can't believe that there are no reviews for this! This is an absolutely amazing album. So well produced, so deep, so surreal. Each song brings something different yet has that same almost heavenly feel. The album art actually perfectly depicts the emotions that this album brings out. It is available for a great price right now so I would recommend that you get this. If you love indie stuff and underground bands, JBM will NOT disappoint. Such talent. Such amazing guitar work. Such great vocals. Absolute favorite. I tell everyone I can about this.

Stray Ashes is a wonderfully lovely record to listen to if you're in a quiet, reflective state of mind. I recently discovered JBM and his beautiful songs. I love the piano and driving melody on Thames and Keeping Up is another song where the piano has a subtle powerhouse effect. I believe I am going backwards because I am coming to this record from the live version of the record which is more energetic and faster paced. I would recommend getting both the recorded and live versions of this record to see what an amazing artist he really is. Two different worlds but still the same personal, intimate presentation. Love his music a lot.

This album doesn't have a lot of variation in the music being played, but is beautiful, ethereal and haunting. I would not recommend listening to this album if you are severely depressed, it is produced in a minor mode.

Great artist
ill be that guy .... the daytrotter version of winter ghost should be the one on this album. Amazing artist better unplugged.
