The "true" Edison,

This review is from: A Streak of Luck : The Life and Legend of Thomas Alva Edison (Hardcover)
I found this book to be an interesting and informative look at the habits, idiosyncracies, successes, and failures of perhaps one of the 19th century's foremost inventors and visionaries.Edison was largely self-taught, clearly genius and imaginative, but driven to levels of personal accomplishment that were staggering. Conot's expose captures Edison's personality and humor, along with the trials and tribulations in his personal relationships. Certainly, Edison had a "streak of luck". However, what elevated him above scores of other competitors was his persistence. |
