I discovered Cryptic Slaughter while on steady diet of fast 80s punk rock (GBH, Varukers, Gang Green...). I still think Stream of Consciousness is their absolute best. The songs are unbelievably catchy and therefore easy on the ear. The zero-budget mono production actually adds some mystique to the music. Not only were Cryptic Slaughter fast, they also had lots of character. To me it's a grindcore band with rock'n'roll artistry upfront. So obviously you should listen to this album, it's great!

This album is by far the most original and creative i've ever heard. Killer basslines and clever drumming accompanied by blasting lyrics/vocals and feisty guitar riffs. Hear this and everything else will seem dull and unchallenging (like Korn, Disturbed, Godsmack) You will want to hear more creative music such as this and progress in todays music which seems to have regressed to elementary guitar riffs (due to the lack of musicality and more emphasis on looks over talent) and talentless hip shaking hip hop rockers and Afro posers who want to relive a past image that is not of their own creation. All 4 albums from these guys are all different and i admire their willingess to change and be creative. Get this and listen very closely, that's the sound that will NEVER be duplicated again!

cryptic slaughters stream of consciousness was an ablum not given enuff credit band breaks up a month into us tour and this disc was lost not in my mind thou there best effort in my ears but who am i listen 4 urself and u shall hear it 1st hand its bone crushin ram it down ur throat thrashcore/speedmetal punk never have heard anything thing close 2 it it needs 2 be rereleased many r missin out n shouldnt have 2 it was a sad day when original lineup disband but at least we have something 2 listen 2
