4.0 out of 5 stars Streamlight quality, but could be brighter
This flashlight is built like a tank; it is MSHA certified for use in areas with methane in the air, so it's the perfect flashlight to keep around if you are a professional who often find him/herself in a dangerous location.

The version I tested has a Xenon bulb, and produces a fairly bright yellow light. The light is nowhere near as bright as from most...

2.0 out of 5 stars Looks nice, performs OK
I like that the flashlight seals well for dirty environments, but it's just not that bright. I expected the 10 LEDs to put out a super bright beam, but I compared it to a 3D cell Maglite and the Maglite is so bright it totally overpowers the Streamlight beam. I would not buy this one again... I'd just get another Maglite.

This flashlight is built like a tank; it is MSHA certified for use in areas with methane in the air, so it's the perfect flashlight to keep around if you are a professional who often find him/herself in a dangerous location.

The version I tested has a Xenon bulb, and produces a fairly bright yellow light. The light is nowhere near as bright as from most >1Watt LED lights out there, and Streamlight does make an LED version of this lamp.

The clip is sturdy, and a ring is included to hook a lanyard to it.

I only spent $12 on mine, and that is about the most I'd be willing to pay for a non LED flashlight, but if you need a flashlight with specifcations like this, then the usual price is certainly worth it.

I depend on a good flashlight in my job. Save your money, you can buy a $3 flash light with more light out put than the Xenon. Not worth the money they are asking.

I am an industrial electrician and a mag light is metal. This plastic light I can lay and drop almost anywhere. The beam is fixed but is a good beam for just about everything. It is good for about 100 + feet.

The bad is that if you set it down on the lens cap it makes a good seal and you can't see any light, thus you leave it on.

1.0 out of 5 stars not good, February 2, 2011

Great flashlight in all respects.... except for the fact that the power button is carbage. I owned five of them in the last 3 years and only one is still operational. If the problem is ever adressed they would be right under pelican in quality
