5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect flashlight for all occations
I cant say enough about the products from streamlight. I purchased this light about 3 months ago & couldnt be happier. The light features both LEDx3 and Xenon bulbs. The LEDs work great for some basic flood lighting when you are trying to find something in the dark. The Xenon comes in handy when you are doing something specific and need to see every detail. 3.0 out of 5 stars good light but not as good as surefire
I got this light so I can leave it in the car for emergency and not to worry about getting it stolen from car wash people. Xenon mode is pretty bright but the quality of the light can't be compared with any of the surefire lights. So I am not sure what the other user is talking about this light is better than the surefire light(if you give any police a choice of...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value for a dual light, August 8, 2005

I bought the Streamlight 51015 for the dual light capability for night flight (I'm a general aviation pilot.) High intensity for pre-flight, LEDs for supplemental interior light. I was also considering the Surefire Aviator A-2 (also a dual-purpose light, which costs $185, but gives the option of a fixed, different color light in different models - white, red, green, yellow-green - depends on your philosophy of which least affects your night vision.) I already have the Surefire P-6. In a side-by-side comparison of the Streamlight with the P-6 at night, I would say the P-6 is about 10% brighter (in high intensity mode.) The P-6 does not have LEDs, so there is no comparison there. The Streanlight's LEDs are somewhat brighter than I expected - and that would make the Streamlight a great light for walking at night and uses like that. I found the finish to be comparable to the Surefire - perhaps the Surefire is a tad better finished, but nothing that you would notice unless you're using a microscope. All in all - at $30 - the Streamlight is a great value. If the high intensity light had been as bright as the Surefire - I would have given it a 5 overall.

The LEDs work great for some basic flood lighting when you are trying to find something in the dark. The Xenon comes in handy when you are doing something specific and need to see every detail. Like I said, I have had it 3 months and havent replaced the batteries yet with moderate use.
Everything is manufactured to the upmost extreme. The case is very durable aluminum with titanium or black coating. The lens is hard to break, I have dropped mine once or twice without even a scratch. The button is also very simple and ergonomic, much like a MAG.
For someone looking to buy this flashlight, I would also recommend the 2D model. It is 2.5 inches larger, but has 10 LED's and lasts 3 times longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Flashlight, Great For Any Situation, January 20, 2004

This review is from: Streamlight 51015 TT-2L 2-Lithium Xenon/3-LED Twin-Task Flashlight, Titanium (Tools & Home Improvement)
I don't know what that guy from White Plains, NY USA is talking about. This Streamlight Flashlight has 72 lumens(little over 43,000 candle power)of brightness, Last 2.5 hours with full brightness and 28 hours with the 3 LEDs when Surefire flashlights come with 65 lumens(39,000 candle power) of brightness, 1 hour of use and no optional LEDs(and never will, streamlight has a patent on there dual LED/xenon flashlights). The price is also great for this flashlight and much cheaper than Surefire. I use this flashlight for everything, I just gave one to my nephew for his birthday, he is an Explorer for San Fernando P.D. and he loved it, especially the two choices of brightness for different situations. The only thing that is true about this great flashlight is the adjustable beam does not work that good but the light does not even need adjusting it is perfect the way it is. Surefire does not even offer this feature but both lights have the same style light beam. I also own a Streamlight rechargeable Ultra Stinger and I could not be more happier with this flashlight, it has 75,000 candle power(the power of this light is incredible) an adjustable floodlight that does work very well. I think Surefire flashlights are a little over rated for the price they charge. If you want a good quality flashlight that is just as good as Surefire if not better than get a Streamlight for half or more off the price than a Surefire.

The only thing that is good is the price, I got it for $24 @ amazon.com but the price has gone up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, The Best Flashlight Out There, January 21, 2004

This review is from: Streamlight 51015 TT-2L 2-Lithium Xenon/3-LED Twin-Task Flashlight, Titanium (Tools & Home Improvement)
This Streamlight is brighter than a Surefire, cost less and has a longer battery run time when turned on.

I have looked all over the internet for the best price on 3 volt lithium batteries for my Streamlight Twin-Task 2-cell lithium flashlight and Surefire does offer the best deal(surprised) 12 3-volt lithium batteries for $$$ at [online] . The 2nd best deal is [online] for those people who are interested.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice light, but I prefer the PackMate, March 29, 2010
This review is from: Streamlight 51015 TT-2L 2-Lithium Xenon/3-LED Twin-Task Flashlight, Titanium (Tools & Home Improvement)
I used these TwinTask lights as my go-to flashlights for several years. These aren't top-of-the-line lights, but they do provide a great compact flashlight for the price. These were the lights that I kept in my glove box or thrown in with my camping gear before I discovered the PackMate lights.

One of the best things about these lights is the multiple output levels. They can be set to the low brightness setting that will give you excellent battery life for standard use, or they can be bumped up to a higher brightness if you need to really light something up. Unfortunately, this is also the most irritating thing about the light since the switch to toggle modes is a sequential push button; so you have to cycle through all the modes every time you turn the light on.

Just to be clear, the brightness/focus of this light definitely isn't as good as other lights that cost several times more money. But, for the price, I don't think they can be beat. If you are used to using any size MagLite (or comparable flashlight) instead of a top-of-the-line SureFire or Streamlight, then you will be amazed by the brightness of these.

Even with the irritating switch, I would still recommend the TwinTask flashlights if you absolutely need it to be black. If you are OK with either green or orange camo I would recommend the Streamlight PackMate lights instead. The PackMate lights are the same size as the TwinTask lights and they don't cost much more; but they have some improvements - including a much better switch and better brightness/focus.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it!, October 28, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Streamlight 51015 TT-2L 2-Lithium Xenon/3-LED Twin-Task Flashlight, Titanium (Tools & Home Improvement)
The xenon bulb is bright and powerful. The expensive lithium batteries only power it for a few hours, then your left with only the 3 LED bulbs which Streamlight claims give off 25 lumens. Nonsense! My mini maglite rated at 5.3 lumens easily outshine those LEDS by a wide margin.

Only useful in 2 hour XENON mode, useless in LED mode.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does a good job and has both LEDs and a decent Xenon lamp, May 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Streamlight 51015 TT-2L 2-Lithium Xenon/3-LED Twin-Task Flashlight, Titanium (Tools & Home Improvement)
The housing is solid and nice, the battery cap has a water tight rubber ring on it as well.

The expect to get about 1.2 hours or so just using the xenon lamp. Pretty bright and definitely blinding. It reaches 30-40 feet well.

The LED mode is bright with a slight blue hue, lights up areas within 20 feet nicely even in low light situations, looks even better in complete dark out conditions. It allows about 18 hours of battery life in LED mode.

Takes 2 3volt lithium batteries. It's not thin like a two AA maglite this fits nicely in the hand. Has a tassel and the switching mode goes as is.. xenon - LEDs - xenon-off. Also the beam has a minimum amount of focus but only for the xenon lamp which is centered.

Overall, very satisfied with the purchase.
