I purchased this primarily for back packing trips. Works great. Still on the same batteries after 3 trips. Clips anywhere. Hat, tree, pack and gear loops inside of tent. Includes head strap, which also works well. A must have backcountry light.

We've been using standard incandescent flashlights for our camping needs for years. This year we decided to go LED. I purchased this one for my wife. It has a convenient clip that can be secured to the side of a baseball cap, and a nice chord attachment. It's also small enough to hide in your pocket. The light is durably constructed, with a nice beam spread, and it was reasonably priced. If you're looking for something that clips easy to the bill of a baseball cap, I'd recommend the Gerber 22-80012. I purchased this one for myself and it's simple clip worked perfectly on my cap, freeing up your hands for simple night time tasks.

Used this light during hunting season. Talk about a smart investment! Hands free light, fully adjustable, bright but not glaring light; simply awesome! I will buy again if anything happens to this one.

A very useful and flexible light indeed. The ability to detach the lamp from the elastic head band can be very handy. I tested the lamp with 3 new copper top AAA bateries and found that at 24 hours the lamp had full brightness. At 48 hours the light had useful light at about 3/4 of full brightness. After 48 hours the light became increasingly less usefull. This is not any where near the stated specification for the light but 48 hours is quite remarkable for 3 AAA cells. I found the light to be very comfortable and very rugged. This is a solid product and yet light weight.

This is actually the third light I have purchased of the same part number. I use this light on a daily basis for the past 4+ years and it performs well whether it is frigid outside or not. The major weakness that this light has is the plastic tabs on the body which locks the waterproof cap on, break easily. This isn't a major issue if you are aware of it to make sure to press in on the cap as you twist to open to replace the batteries and make sure the tabs aren't stressing. Unfortunately I didn't pass this information on to a friend who had used it and went to replace the batteries and broke one of the tabs off. Like I said this is minor design flaw and does not outweigh how good this product performs.

Used on two hunts entering woods in morning. Worked well on both days finding tree stand. Green LED lights very bright. Well constructed, clips well to hat or included head strap. Easy to turn on and off, and nice it can be replaced with regular AAA bats.

This was the main flashlight I used for a 3-week Everest Base Camp trek. I ended up using this rather than the Black Diamond Icon headlamp which was so heavy I ended up leaving it home and taking this little gem. The Black Diamond Icon Headlamp was brighter, sturdier, had several modes, fit much more sturdily on your head, but I was over my 15 kilogram limit and had to go light.

Almost immediately, in my pocket, one of the clips broke that holds the end cap of the battery case on this Clipmate flashlight. It's under a lot of stress from the stiff springs in line with the batteries, and the thin plastic is no match for that much force. Fortunately, I had duct tape with me (wrapped around a freeby pseudo-credit card), and I was able to tape on the cap effectively, though the result was rather ugly. After another month or so, the clip broke while it was in my pocket. So if I had been relying on that I would have been screwed. My guess is that when picking up something very heavy I tend to press on the light in my pocket, and the leverage on the clip broke the tab on the cap, and then the clip itself. So if you need the clip or the light as a headlamp, don't carry it in your pocket.

I thought it would come in handy occasionally in daily use to be able to clip it to something for hands-free operation, but in the 9 months I've used the flashlight, aside from the occasional use on the trail in the Himalayas, there was exactly once that I've used the clip.

I bought a new one and immediately unsnapped the clip, and now I REALLY love the little bugger. It feels GREAT in the hand. I'm buying several of these as gifts. It's considerably brighter, and moderately thinner and "sleeker" in my pocket than the usual cheapo 9-led 3-AAA led flashlights. It has become a part of my basic stuff, and if I ever leave home without it I feel as if I screwed up.

I have a very affectionate feeling about this little flashlight. The switch, activated by rotating the round head end of the thing, has been 100.0% reliable. It's surprisingly bright, though not as bright as the Techlite Lumen Master 150 Lumens High-Intensity CREE XPE L.E.D. Tactical Flashlight, 3 Pack which also uses 3 AAA batteries but is just too big and heavy to lug around in my pocket for general use.

Regarding buying from Amazon, and here I must sound like somebody being paid to write favorable reviews (which I ain't), that I bought maybe 70% of the things for my trek at Amazon and 30% at REI, and I have come to take it for granted that when I click on "buy now with 1-click" using my account which has prime, I'd say 20% of the time the thing actually ends up coming earlier than the promised day, and virtually all the rest of the time it comes on the day promised. I bet it's less than 4% of the time it's actually late. On the subject of buying from Amazon, I really appreciate being able to see the average ratings, to read the reviews, and to filter options by price and various other things in a smart manor. I detest other sites where I have to select Brand A or Feature B, review what is available, then go back and select another brand or feature.

This item is priceless in my line of work. When you need concentrated light without illuminating the whole interior of your car this streamlight is perfect. The battery life has been amazing(months) and I use this on average many times per day 4 days per week.

This little flashlight does put out the light. Have used it to get the paper in the morning to checking out work above ceilings to light dim reaches of panels. So far the plastic ball and socket is still solid so that the body doesn't flop out of position, but the non adjustable plastic ball and socket doesn't inspire confidence. Also the use as a headlamp seems to be an afterthought. They put a plastic clip on the end of a relatively heavy body joined by a plastic ball and socket. Then they provide a flex headband with a plastic pocket receiver that only the end of the clip slips onto. It would be better if the clip passed through the receiver completely. You feel the weight of the torch torque against your forehead since the torch is now essentially a semi rigid horn sticking out of you forehead. It works but awkwardly and for how long? But the flashlight itself is a great little illuminator.

I have two of these lamps clips everywhere your cap,belt,shirt pocket you name it. I've dropped them on ground and in the water and they keep on going. I give them a best buy.
