I had the opportunity to test this LED flashlight during a 5-hour outage. We left it turned on for almost the entire period. Its light did diminish somewhat afterwards, but it was still giving sufficient illumination. I did not test the 155 hour run time, but it's obvious it lasts much longer than the widely used Krypton flashlights.
The color output seems cold and slightly purple compared to the warm color produced by Krypton. The Polymer grip is well constructed and sealed against water.
Although not mentioned in the Amazon.com description, my unit was packaged with 4 Energizer batteries.

I have never owned another light so durable. The batteries last
a very long time (like 150 hours) so even leaving it on for a day
is not a problem. It is really good light. I will only buy LED flashlights
from now on.

In preparing for my first 100 mile ultra run, I compared and read reviews for several flashlights. This by far is the best in comparison. In reality, it proved to be just what was advertised. For the price, you get a more light for the buck. It is very lightweight too; it also fits comfortably in my hand and easily attached to my handheld water bottle. I used it for about 10 hours on one set of batteries. The more LEDS the flashlight has the better the illumination. However, the light started to become noticeably dim after about 6 to 7 hours. This was not a major issue since my pace was considerably slower. It was enough light to guide me into daylight. If I happen to run an ultra again, I may try using a headlamp to complement the flashlight.

This is my first LED flashlight but won't be the last. Very bright, forever run time, light weight, great on/off switch. Remeber it's a flood light... can't be focused down to a thin beam so don't expect to peg far away targets. But the amount of light is very impressive and serves well up to, say 30 feet. I'm gonna get more!!

Where to start? First of all, I wasn't "blown away" by the amound of light coming from it. The Amazon people muat get blown away pretty easily; I thought it was decent, but from reading the reviews I had been led to expect a blinding flood of white light. However, I would say it's no brighter than the average incandescent light of the same size, such as a maglite.

Secondly, the LED head unit really does have a tendency to burn out, as evidenced by the number of complaints on here. I had been using it for about a week when I turned it on and lo and behold one of those LEDs started flickering away like mad. A few minutes later and it was dead. I sent away for a new head unit, which was a hassle in itself; after paying 3 bucks for shipping and waiting 2 weeks I finally got the replacement LED unit, which worked OK for a week or so until I found out that it didn't sit right in it's housing. It rattles around in there and the light flickers until you hold it just right so that it can make a solid connection.

After all this, I'd say don't waste your time. Find a better brand.

The best all purpose general use flashlight on the market today! (My opinion) I took one on a 2 week mountain camping trip near Lake Tahoe. Used it serveral hours every night reading and NEVER had to change the batteries once. It really does last for 155 hours on only 4 AA batteries. It stayed amazingly bright the entire trip and did not dim like normal flashlights do. It's completely waterproof and it's very light weight and puts off tons of light. With the LED's there is no bulb to break if dropped. (Very kid proof) It does not roll away from you because of the oval shaped handle which also makes it very natural to hold for long periods. Streamlight has a real winner here!! Many people on the trip wanted to know where they could purchase one. I can't see myself ever using the old style flashlight ever again. I am going to purchase two more of these flashlights, one for my emergency kit at home and one for my trucks glove box. And who knows, maybe even a few stocking stuffers this Christmas.

*** I also found a holder that is perfect if you want/need to carry this flashlight on your belt. The oval shaped handle of the flashlight fits perfectly into the sturdy nylon holder. It is the Bianchi Accumold ASP 21-inch nylon baton holder (model#: 7313). You can find them at police duty equipment web sites or search for them on google or froogle. The holders cost about $15-20. ***

I bought two of these for a camping trip and they worked quite well on NiMH

batteries when the batteries were charged. I did have a problem with the

batteries as one of them wouldn't hold a complete charge. The flashlight

was moderately dimmer but that's expected.

The flashlight with the recommended alkaline batteries is a little brighter

as they put out 1.5 volts while NiHM puts out 1.2 volts.

They're rugged as advertised and pretty convenient. These two flashlights have replaced our two-D-cell flashlights for general use and not having to

recharge and replace batteries is very nice.

These flashlights are pricey but I chose them over some cheaper models

as they advertise a 100,000 hour bulb life compared to some LED lights

that advertise 10,000 hours.

I also have a Princeton Tec Attitude 4-AAA cell LED flashlight with three

leds.

I keep this in my backpack or carry it in my shirt pocket when I need more

modest lighting as it's smaller and lighter.

Lightweight and bright exactly what you expect in this family of lights. Easy to hold and it fits right in your back pocket. OK it's not as bright as my scorpion light, but at 155 hours of run time I'll keep it. I just bought 2 and they are blinding. They will easily light up a long hallway, but don't expect to see the end of a football field. It is just right for finding your way out of a dark stairwell, or as a signal light. Be careful, the switch should be stiffer, you can turn it on by accident very easy.

When the sun goes down, this is the flashlight you want at your side! It's VERY, VERY bright! So bright that if you flash it into your eyes (what I did by accident after putting the batteries in) you'll see spots for a few minutes!

One IMPORTANT thing is that you need to know is that when putting the flashlight together, you MUST align the bottom of the light connectors right on the batteries, THEN put the cap on and screw it tighthly on (to be waterproof). If you don't follow this, the light either will not work, or will work only on occasion.

The next thing great about this is that you do not always have to click it on. You can just slightly push the bush the button (also can use to signal someone) and the light goes on!

These LED bulbs are the way of the future!

The three cell C battery light is next in line if you want something larger as it has TEN LED's! Made by Streamlight also and Amazon sells it (cheapest anywhere)!!

I purchased this flashlight at Costco. When I first turned it on I was impressed with the LED performance. However after trying to use it again later it would not turn on (completely dead). I tried different batteries, still no light. I returned the flashlight to Costco and bought another. The next one did the exact same thing.
