This review is from: Streamlight 85914 Xenon Replacement Bulb for Scorpion and TL2 Flashlights (Sports)
I love my Streamlight Scorpion, it is so handy and incredibly bright, it is tough to ask for more from a mini light. These little bulbs take a fair amount of abuse, but eventually even the heartiest bulb filament succumbs to time and usage. These original equipment bulbs are worth every penny they cost.
I remember my wife and were looking for a street in a rural area late one night, and she told me to get out my flashlight. When I produced the Scorpion, she got perturbed and asked where my big rechargeable was. I had her stop at a crossroads and rolled down my window and said watch this. Pointing the light down the dark and unlit tree lined road, I thumbed on the switch and illuminated a STOP sign a few blocks away; what was truly amazing was we could see a couple of other stop signs at great distance, not to mention reflectors all along the way. She just said wow and never questioned my gear choices again. An amazing feat for such a tiny bulb!

Found a suprise in the light,
This review is from: Streamlight 85914 Xenon Replacement Bulb for Scorpion and TL2 Flashlights (Sports)
Like most reviewers I too love my Streamlight Scorpion and each of my family members has one on the nightstand. After a few years the bulb in my light quit, and I ordered a new one. When it arrived I saw four hole in the white base where the bulb is inserted. Two of the holes had copper contacts and I assumed that was where the bulb went. I frankly could not recall which holes I had pulled the burned bulb out of a week before. As a test I inserted the bulb pins inside the two hole without copper contacts. The chrome cap on the bottom popped off and a spare bulb wrapped in gray foam appeared. Leave it to Streamlight to supply a spare buld the way Maglight use to keep one in the tail caps of their lights. Then I realized the two hole W/out copper contacts were where the spare bulb had been stored inside the white base unit, and the copper contact holes were where the buld being used goes. Maybe some users already knew of this, but I didn't.
Why only 4 stars? Nothing to do with the bulb or Streamlight. It's the outrageous shipping. This weighed nothing, less than an ounce and to charge $5 to ship it is goughing, pure and simple. It would pay to order five and never pay shipping again.

My son gave me a Streamlight TL-2 flashlight for Christmas a few years ago. It uses this type bulb. I tried to get a LED upgrade kit for this flashlight but there is none available. Being a pricey flashlight, and a gift from my son, I gladly ordered a new bulb when the original one finally burned out. These bulbs are pricey everywhere so I have no complaints.
