Excellent general purpose flashlight, June 29, 2006
First of all, you have to recognize that this product is NOT claimed by the manufacturer to be a Tactical or Law Enforcement Duty light. Rather, it is a general purpose light for home, camp, auto, boating, and limited self-defense use. The "twin task" design is such that you have graduated light output levels to suit your needs. The switch is well located (unless you prefer the tail cap designs), and each of the 3 levels of light are clearly distinct. The light's patterns are very even with no spots or shadows. The included lanyard is good, and Streamlight sells a more deluxe lanyard for just a couple of bucks. The alloy tube and Lexan lens construction make for a very robust light, and you could use it as a self-defense tool if necessary while not damaging the light. The slimness of the C-cell sized tube does permit handling of both the light and a handgun using the Ayoob technique, and users with small or gloved hands (like in the cold of winter) will find this light eaiser to grasp than "D" cell sized lights. Due to market competition and trying to sell this light at the lowest price possible, it does not come with batteries, but then fresh "C" cell batteries are cheap and readily available worldwide. I highly recommend this light for home and camp use. Keep one in the car and you're good for all conditions, including an expedient self-defense tool. For more purely "tactical" applications other lights, albeit more costly, should probably be considered first. Finally, I've carried the light on duty (KCSD #945) to see if it would hold up and it did the job adequately, but I switched back to my Streamlight Scorpion for more serious work. Lastly, I gave one of these TT-3C lights to my son for use in all his Boy Scout activities, and it has provided 5+ years' of faultless service despite being dropped, dunked, frozen, left all day in the New Mexico sun, and generally banged about until half the exterior finish has been worn or scratched off. This light helped him earn his Eagle Scout rank, so I can't offer higher praise. This is one tough light with plenty of illumination output, and is a particularly outstanding value for the price.

Most Excellent!, October 25, 2005
This is the second Streamlight I've owned and this is as good as the first. The dual option of having LEDs and a Xenon bulb are great. Having the right tool for the right situation is always vital and this is like having two flashlights in one. Only negative is you have to cycle through the lights to turn it off, but this is only a minor annoyance.

Two for the price of one., October 17, 2003
This is a great flashlight. I have two other LED flashlights and they are good but they don't fit the bill when you need a BRIGHT light. With this I have both, the LEDs are bright and will give you what you need 90% of the time, But when you need more you just turn on the Xenon and you have a very bright light. I also like the strong metal case, it has the feel of a Mag light. If you have been thinking about getting a LED flashlight this is the one to get. (they make other sizes you might like for yourself)
