A Biblical Commentary of the Heart,
By Mary Thomas Watts (Wilmington, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Streams Of Mercy: a meditative commentary on the Bible (Paperback)
Ann Fontaine's "Streams of Mercy" was published just in time for Advent and Christmas, when we're often way too busy for our own spiritual good. Opening the covers of this lovely, poetic book of daily Biblical commentaries takes the reader on a brief and inspirationsl spiritual retreat. With her economy of language and insight into the human condition, Fontaine's reflections will inspire contemporary Christian pilgrims throughout the liturgical year.

A beautiful read,
This review is from: Streams Of Mercy: a meditative commentary on the Bible (Paperback)
This is a book one would want to keep with them forever. The sign of a well written book of meditations/reflections is if the words send us on a journey with our spiritual centers. Streams of Mercy does indeed provide the vehicle for just such a ride.

This review is from: Streams Of Mercy: a meditative commentary on the Bible (Paperback)
What I have enjoyed about Streams of Mercy is its light touch~by focusing on a kernel of the daily reading and reflecting on it in the musings of a poet, Ann Fontaine breaks open the density of words that have often been a stumbling block for my discipline of reading the lectionary. Ann frees the words from their prose and allows them to dance with you throughout the day. In this book of reflections Ann Fontaine share her insights grounded in the sacredness of everyday life. Thank you; it is a loyal daily companion. Would make a great gift too. In fact, I'm buying one for my mother!
