4.0 out of 5 stars Great nU Wave R&B record the debut of the Deele, January 1, 2007

I remember listening to this ablum in the summer of 1984 and loved the keyboard work of one "Kenny Edmunds" and Drummer Antonio Reed and the Nu Wave electronic funk of the band 'The Deele'. Now both big-time record moguls (L.A. Reed and Babyface) people seem to forget how good their band "The Deele" actually was, their debut album has what is I call "Nu Wave R&B" a style of music with it's roots in..

Glam Rock
Funk
Soul
Rock
Nu Wave

stylings and Prince may have done great albums in the mileu, there were other groups like Midnight Star, Shalamar, Zapp and The Deele. with the classic 'Body Talk' and a great debut album of jams and ballads you can't go wrong with this Cincy band debut album it's a great piece of music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't get this one song out of my mind!!, March 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Street Beat (Audio CD)
If you are a Babyface fan then you really need to get this album. It shows you his true start in the industry. The one song in particular that sticks with me is "Crazy about you". I remember at 13 playing that song over and over again on my record player (yes I did say record) and wearing it out. Imagine how I felt when someone scratched it up. This album has been the one true record that I've wanted since then but have not been able to find it. It must be popular because Amazon has it out of stock also!
