REVIEW UPDATED ON 8/19/2013. IMPORANT INFORMATION BELOW.

Pass on Street Fighter X Tekken's PC port if you're looking to play it online. The game itself is pretty fun, but the networking code is the worst thing ever put into a modern game, bar none. It's even worse than The King of Fighters XIII and Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition. In theory, it's similar to the much-loved GGPO library in that you and your partner are both playing the game in real time with a static input delay. If your games de-synchronize due to a latency spike, the game will revert to the last synchronized frame. Sounds great, right? Problem is, the experience is anything but smooth in practice. It was designed for consoles, where the hardware is static and doesn't vary from unit to unit. On PC, even the slightest frame drop stemming from different hardware will cause the game to constantly roll back, making it impossible to effectively attack or defend against your opponent. Because of this, endless battle lobbies are nonexistent, and you'll find yourself fighting the same people over and over again in ranked play.

If you still insist on trying it out for yourself, then here's a helpful tip to try and smooth out the diarrheal rapids that are this game's online experience:

The hardware problem is exacerbated by the unfathomably stupid decision to set the default frame rate setting to "variable" with no way to change it in-game. You can attempt to fix this by going into your My Documents folder. Open the CAPCOM folder, then its SFTK subfolder. Open the config.INI file with a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++, then scroll to "FrameRate=VARIABLE" and change it to "FrameRate=FIXED", then save it. This will lock your game at 60 FPS and hopefully minimize any hardware-related de-synchronizations.

UPDATE: Street Fighter X Tekken uses the Games for Windows Live service to facilitate its online multiplayer, which will be shutting down on July 1st, 2014. Its fate is currently unclear. Do NOT buy this product until Capcom has issued an official statement!

Fun game with cool two on two action. Easy controls and good variety of fighters! Nice to finally have the Tekken characters on PC.

The game meets all my expectations, I just don't like the idea of needing to sign up for Microsoft's love account for the game to work. Even worse that the app isn't compatible with Windows 8. Needs to be reinstalled in compatibility mode to work, then only will the game work as well.

I'm not a big fan of fighting games, actually my girlfriend (who is a big fan of Tekken) asked me to purchase a PC game we can both enjoy.

The game runs smoothly on my GeForce GTX550 ti. I can say it's fun, the training and "mission" mode are great for noobs like me, I can recommend it.

Fun game. Haven't played this in like 20 years. Love the four-way co-op battles and the tutorial too! I have it on the highest graphic settings and my Alienware x51 handles it fine.

I think price is worth. For 15 bucks you get all the chars available (I see someone was asking for Pacman or Megaman, but those were released only for PS3).
Full price will get you all 12 DLC chars (Lars, Alisa, Lei, Sakura, Christie, Cody, Jack-X, Guy, Elena, Bryan, Blanka, Dudley) plus additional costumes and gems.
I had already the game for 360, but this deal will make me give it a shot for master race. Enjoy

Could any of the buyer of this pack tell me how many characters this pack contains and how many we have to buy like pacman etc. I really liked this game but if this pack offers too few characters, its useless to buy it cause i'll have to spend more on buying characters. Any info much appreciated.

I gave it a 3 star because it is a good fighter but I am ready for realistick graphics in a 3d world. Like Fight night boxing games...I want a fighter with even more realism. A game like that would get a 5 star for sure. ...

Anyway this game is fast and well controlled. Older graphics in 2d type game we have all played before.
