5.0 out of 5 stars Old School Rules!
I liked the songs on this CD. Reminds me of the 80's and how fun the songs were, especially old school jams.

3.0 out of 5 stars Street Jams - Electric Funk - CD3
Rhino Records has their hands on the licenses of some great artists and wisely rereleased them to a hungry old school crowd. Rhino Records has their hands on the licenses of some great artists and wisely rereleased them to a hungry old school crowd. Whether it was Grandmaster Flash or the Sugar Hill Gang they made a lot of fans very happy with releases like this one. Growing up listening to breakdance music in the early 80's these discs bring back a lot of memories. Here are my thoughts and track ratings;

1. Skanless Electric Funk Megamix (Phase 2) - Juice "The Electric Wire" & Steve Yano 6/10
2. White Lines (Don't Don't Do It) - Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel 10/10 (Pure old school brilliance with a message)
3. Take a Chance - Nuance 4/10
4. Looking for the Perfect Beat - Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force 7/10
5. Jam the Box - Pretty Tony 6/10 (Decent song but terribly repetitive)
6. Taste So Good - File 13 4/10 (Funny the first time, tedious after that)
7. Naughty Boy - Uncle Jamm's Army 3/10 (Naughty in this case means bad song as well)
8. All Night - Trinere 5/10
9. The Party Has Begun - Freestyle 5/10 (Some annoying and repetitive video game sound effects)
10. Calling on the Dream Team - L.A. Dream Team 6/10 (Funky synth beat the rest is mediocre)
11. Celebrate! (Everybody) - MC G.L.O.B.E. & Pow Wow 5/10
12. Surgery - World Class Wreckin' Cru 4/10
13. Dubb Girls [The Ultimate Mix)] - Egyptian Lover 3/10

This album has a few classic tracks such as White Lines and Looking For The Perfect Beat. It also has some really awful stuff in between. This album also seems to be more focused on sex related songs, all of which sound quite lame. My advice is to listen to it for the classics and appreciate their sound but let your ears gloss over the rest. Note: this is Disc 3 of a 4 disc set.

I have used this CD for many dance parties and this music gets them up and dancing everytime.

Great jams, music to move it by and high energy. A must have for any frat party or just friends getting together to get funky.
