This CD is really good. The first song is what made me buy this CD in the first place and after listening to the other songs, that's what made me keep it.

Street Jams - Electric Funk - CD4, July 20, 2010
This review is from: Street Jams: Electric Funk 4 (Audio CD)
Rhino Records has their hands on the licenses of some great artists and wisely rereleased them to a hungry old school crowd. Whether it was Grandmaster Flash or the Sugar Hill Gang they made a lot of fans very happy with releases like this one. Growing up listening to breakdance music in the early 80's these discs bring back a lot of memories. Here are my thoughts and track ratings;
1. Don't Stop the Rock - Freestyle 6/10
2. I Wonder If I Take You Home [Extended Version] - Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam with Full Force 5/10
3. White Horse - Laid Back 10/10
4. Rock Me - Connie 4/10
5. Rock the Planet - Megatrons, The 5/10
6. Computer Power - Jamie Jupitor 5/10
7. Technicolor [Long Mix] - Channel One 7/10 (Atkins on the cutting edge as usual)
8. How to Be a Zillionaire [Wall Street Mix] - ABC 8/10 (What's not to love about ABC? Not sure it belongs on this compilation however)
9. Dance - Egyptian Lover 6/10 (Nice synth bassline)
10. It's Automatic - Freestyle 4/10 (Another nice synth bass but everything grates on you)
11. Juice - World Class Wreckin' Cru 5/10
12. Rockberry Jam - L.A. Dream Team 4/10
This album has some nice classic tracks such as White Horse and Technicolor. It also has some really mediocre stuff in between. This album is laden with computer sythesized voice, much more so than the previous 3 CDs. My advice is to listen to it for the classics and appreciate their sound but let your ears gloss over the rest. Note: this is Disc 4 of a 4 disc set.
